Hello Friends:
Here is a brief article on how I got started in healing that I hope you enjoy. Don't forget to download the first chapter of my new book, Are you Stuck in Fight or Flight as well and feel free to forward this email to others to spread the word.
My Journey into Healing:
__________________________
Nearly 50 years ago, during my undergraduate pre-med studies, I found myself caught in the relentless pressure of maintaining a 3.8 GPA to secure a place in medical school. The stress was overwhelming—endless studying, competitive coursework, and the constant fear of falling short. Over time, my body began to break down. I struggled to regulate my body temperature, suffered from insomnia, and battled anxiety so intense that it felt like needles were piercing every pore of my skin.
Desperate for answers, I turned to the student health services, hoping for relief. The diagnosis? Anxiety. The solution? A prescription for Valium and sleeping pills. But the medications only made me feel worse, and I knew deep down that masking symptoms wasn’t true healing. I asked myself, Is this really the kind of doctor I want to become—one who prescribes medication without addressing the root cause?
On a whim, I followed a recommendation to visit a chiropractor and nutritionist in the next town—Dr. David Kaufman. That decision changed everything. Within weeks of working with him, my symptoms dramatically improved. I felt a level of balance and well-being that I hadn’t known was possible.
I knew then: This was the kind of healing I wanted to practice. Six months later, I enrolled at New York Chiropractic College, eventually earning my doctorate with a specialty in kinesiology. Later, I pursued advanced training in acupuncture, further expanding my understanding of how the body heals.
Now, after nearly 45 years of practice, I can say with certainty that my personal healing journey shaped the way I care for my patients. The techniques outlined in this book are not just theories—they are the very methods that helped me reclaim my own health. And now, I share them with you.
As to my future, I plan on practicing at least until I am 75 years old, god willing, which is about 3 years from now. In the meantime I will be publishing books, podcasts, and audiobooks to spread the knowledge I have attained over the years and cutilvate a more online presence.
Please free to email me with questions, comments and suggestions as I make this transition.
