Message from Mayor Pribonic

Dear Stow Community,

As Mayor of Stow, my goals for 2024 included prioritizing the needs of our residents, driving economic and business development, building strong partnerships with local businesses, and supporting the departments that keep our neighborhoods safe while enhancing our quality of life. I’m proud to say that significant upgrades and improvements have continued to shape and enrich our community. Take a look around, and you’ll see remarkable progress on the projects we’ve undertaken!

With the dedication and hard work of city leadership and staff, we successfully executed numerous initiatives that will have a lasting impact on our residents. This extensive list of projects and developments has kept us incredibly busy, but the result is a better quality of life for everyone who calls Stow home. Thanks to the cooperation of all elected officials, department heads, and employees, we ended 2024 in excellent financial health, with balanced budgets across all major funds. These achievements position us well for a bright and prosperous future.

Our economic development also continues to thrive. In 2024, we welcomed a variety of new businesses and saw promising growth in both commercial and residential developments. Stow remains a hub of opportunity, innovation, and community spirit.

As we move into 2025, I am excited about the opportunity to share my State of the City Address with you soon. This address will highlight the projects and successes we’ve accomplished together and the exciting initiatives currently underway.

This new year is already off to a fantastic start! Great things are happening in Stow, and I remain incredibly optimistic about our future. We have so much to be proud of and look forward to. Stow continues to be tradition-centered and future-focused, built on the strong relationships we foster with each other, our community organizations, and our local businesses.

By working together, we can continue to make Stow a wonderful place to raise families, pursue careers, and enjoy life in Northeast Ohio. I pledge to remain accessible to our residents and businesses. Your ideas, input, and feedback are invaluable in helping us understand and address the needs of our community.

I am deeply committed to serving Stow and its residents, and I look forward to another year of working together to achieve even greater success.

Sincerely,

John Pribonic

Mayor, City of Stow

What to know about Parking Bans

A parking ban prohibits motorists from parking cars in the street. Whenever the City has a snow event of a depth of two inches or more, the mayor may declare that an emergency exists and that the snowfall constitutes a serious public hazard impairing transportation, fire, health and public protection and other vital facilities of the City. And in order for snowplowing operations to be completed, a parking ban is issued to prohibit motorists from parking cars on City side streets, so that the streets are unobstructed for essential functions, such as snow plowing and emergency services. During the period of the emergency, law dictates that no person shall park or leave unattended any vehicle of any kind upon the streets.

JANUARY: Reduce Your Runoff

Stormwater runoff is when rain and snow melt move across the land and pick up pollutants, carrying them to a storm drain or ditch system and eventually to your rivers and lakes untreated. Make a plan to slow down, spread out, and soak in the precipitation this year to protect our shared waters.
