Earlier this month, a Caring Partners healthcare team ministered with our church partner in Milpas Altas, Guatemala. The mission team consisted of volunteer doctors and nurses from across the USA, including members of the Board of Directors and the Advisory Council of Caring Partners, as well as Cedarville University professors and students who chose to serve the Lord during their Spring Break.
So many members of the local community in Milpas Altas were reached with physical and spiritual care. Two such patients were the local ladies that operate the town's tortilla shop. Guatemalans eat tortillas for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so these ladies were so busy they weren't sure if they could accept the church's invitation to come to the clinic. But the church encouraged the ladies to just come when they could, and leave if they needed to do so. Praise God, the tortilla ladies came and went from our clinic three times, and during their last trip, they were able to visit the eyeglass station for reading glasses, which they used in the next station - our Clinic of the Soul - to read God's Word as His plan for salvation was presented. By God's grace, both ladies made a profession of faith in Jesus, and are now connected to the Milpas Altas church for follow-up spiritual care - to God be the glory, great things He has done!
