A BIG thank you to Diane Gerlach and the Hospitality Committee for a wonderful evening of food and fellowship last Saturday celebrating St. Patrick. The feast raised $765 in green for Resurrection projects!

Over 1,200 persons served this month

The Necessity Pantry at St. Michael's in Independence continues to serve a vital role in our community. Not a "food pantry" but a "necessity pantry", this outreach program provides needed items to clients that are not provided by other services. Items include shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, disposable razors, shaving cream, bath soap, lotion, deodorant, laundry detergent, toilet paper and feminine hygiene and incontinence products. Cash donations are also gratefully accepted.

This month the Necessity Pantry has served 1,216 persons from 340 households.

In support of this effort, Resurrection members so far this year have donated many volunteer hours to the pantry, contributed $549 in cash and a large number of in-kind items.

In the penitential tradition of Lent, the altar and other church appointments are covered or muted in anticipation of the joyous celebration of Easter. 

You are invited to contribute now for flowers to grace our worship space during the upcoming Easter season. This is a wonderful opportunity to remember loved ones, special events or the glory of God!

There are envelopes in the pews for your contribution. Please include your name if giving cash or note Easter flowers in the memo line of your check.   Thank you!

Wednesdays at 5:30 pm

Resurrection joins other Blue Springs churches sharing food, fellowship and worship during Lent. Each week one church hosts a 5:30 pm gathering for a common meal, followed by a Lenten worship service at 6:40 pm.

Offerings go to support the work of the Community Services League of Blue Springs.

Resurrection will be hosting the ecumenical dinner on April 2.  Please join us for this special evening of worship and fellowship. Sign-up in the Narthex to let us know you are planning to attend.

Saturday, May 3

On May 3, 2025, God-willing, Bishop-elect Amy Dafler Meaux will be consecrated as the IX Bishop of The Diocese of West Missouri.

The service will be held at Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral in Kansas City at 10:00 am, with overflow seating available in Founders’ Hall.

Presiding Bishop Sean Rowe will be administering Communion in Founders’ Hall.

There will be a reception following the service.
