FREE! KEYS Summer Music Program

July 2025- Beginner Program

(entering grades 2-8)


Description: For new students as well as beginners (1-2 years on their instrument). Exact instruments offered will be based on enrolled students. All new students must have a plan to continue lessons for the next school year. Students are required to attend all 5 days. High school students can register to participate as volunteers.


Dates/Location: July 21-25.  Mon-Fri from 9:00am - 12pm.

This year the program will be held on the University of Bridgeport campus!


Eligible students: Current and new students in piano, guitar, strings, winds.


Cost:   No cost. Snacks provided daily

FREE! KEYS Summer Music Program

July 28-August 15 2025

(for grades 5th and up)

*performance for families on

Friday, August 15th!


Description: For experienced* instrument students (2+ years of lessons) to work on their primary instrument plus other musical opportunities, and ensemble experiences. Students who can attend all 3 weeks of the program will be prioritized for enrollment. Other students will be placed on a waiting list and added if space is available. (*KEYS teacher approval needed).


Dates/Location: July 28-August 15. Mon-Fri from 10:00am – 3pm. This year the program will be held on the University of Bridgeport campus!


Eligible students: Students entering grades 5 and up with at least 2 years experience with their primary instrument. Piano, guitar, strings, winds plus electives for percussion and chorus.


Cost:   No cost. Lunch and snacks are provided.

There is a long list of competitive scholarships available through FCCF and Scholarship America including the KEYS Scholarship, now in its third year. Eligible to apply are graduating seniors who have been in the KEYS program for at least 3 years. Students do not need to plan to study music but they must attend and be a full-time student at an accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university, vocational school, trade school, technical school or certificate program.

For students are already in college, there are a more limited number of scholarships available HERE.

  1. *Be a 2025 graduate from a Bridgeport public high school
  2. *Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5

Applications are now open to students from Bridgeport for the Bob Genualdi and Dorothy Straub 2025 Scholarship. The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to students who plan to continue their music studies in the summer or in college.
