Dear Friends and Members,
April has arrived, bringing sunshine, fresh coastal breezes, and the perfect backdrop for outdoor adventures in the Sebastian River Area. Whether you’re kayaking through lush mangrove trails, strolling the scenic waterfront, or enjoying a delicious meal with a view, spring is the perfect time to embrace everything our beautiful region has to offer.
This month, Visit SRA is proud to unveil the revamped Mural Trail Program, an exciting initiative celebrating the vibrant art and culture of our community. With newly restored and freshly commissioned murals, the trail showcases the unique stories, history, and natural beauty of the Sebastian River Area through stunning works of public art. Led by the Chamber’s dedicated Mural Trail Committee, this revitalized program connects residents and visitors with the creativity that brings our local landscapes to life.
Guests can explore the trail in person or through an interactive Story Map, offering insight into each mural’s inspiration and the talented artists behind them. As we continue expanding the trail, we invite businesses, artists, and community members to get involved in shaping this dynamic cultural experience. We are looking for new members to our Mural Trail team, email Tourism@sebastianchamber.com for more information about joining our team.
This month, we’re excited to spotlight Surfside Grill & Adventures, your go-to destination for delicious food, outdoor fun, and unforgettable coastal experiences. Whether you're looking to refuel after a day on the water or embark on an adventure along Florida’s scenic Treasure Coast, this spot has something for everyone.
Now, as we approach the close of our busy season, we’re reflecting on Florida tourism in 2024. The state welcomed a record-breaking 142.9 million visitors—the highest visitation on record and a 1.6% increase over the previous year. This included 29.9 million domestic travelers, 2.5 million overseas visitors, and 742,000 Canadian guests.
As a proud part of Florida’s thriving tourism industry, we’re thrilled to contribute to the state’s ongoing success in attracting visitors from all over the world.
With spring in full swing, April is the perfect time to get out and experience the beauty and culture of our region. Be sure to check out our event calendar for upcoming Concerts in the Park, Finally Friday, Tourism Meetings, and many more ways to enjoy the season!
Thank you for being part of our incredible community. Whether you’re a resident, visitor, or business owner, your continued support helps make the Sebastian River Area an unforgettable destination.

Surfside Grill and Adventures: Another Day in Paradise
| |
Have you heard of the Surfside Grill and Adventures? Perched on the north side of the Sebastian Inlet, since 2017 Surfside Grill and Adventures offers incredible waterfront dining and outdoor experiences. Once a bustling fish house, this unique spot has transformed into a restaurant, event space, and adventure hub, capturing the essence of Florida’s coastal charm.
Since 2023, Jennifer Zielinski has brought new life to the grill with 30 years of experience in Florida’s parks and natural areas. Her passion for great food, custom catering, and outdoor fun makes Surfside Grill a must-visit. Whether you need beach-day essentials like chairs, boogie boards, and sunscreen or watercraft rentals, they’ve got you covered.
Surfside Grill offers a breathtaking 360-degree view of the lagoon and ocean, best enjoyed from the second-floor balcony. With its prime location, guests can dine, explore, and celebrate all in one place. For adventure seekers, guided eco-tours are available Saturdays and Sundays by registration only. These 2-3 hour excursions, led by local experts, showcase the inlet’s diverse ecosystem, wildlife, and history. Surfside Grill boasts an impressive marina rental fleet, including: 38 kayaks, 25 paddleboards, and 3 pontoon boats.
Camping enthusiasts can enjoy 11 primitive campsites, separate from the RV sites across the inlet, offering a more rugged, nature-filled experience. As you explore, keep an eye out for dolphins, pelicans, manatees, and more—the Pelican Island Wildlife Refuge and surrounding waters are teeming with life!
The newly refreshed upstairs event space is an ideal setting for weddings, parties, and special events. With coastal décor, a fresh coat of paint, and a 9-foot bar for signature cocktails, it’s a dream venue with panoramic water views. Custom wedding packages range from $500 to beyond $14,000, catering to everything from intimate beachfront ceremonies to grand receptions. Jennifer and her team personalize every detail to create a truly memorable experience. (A Hidden Gem for Locals & Visitors)
There’s nothing else like Surfside Grill on the island. Jennifer and her tight-knit team focus on exceptional customer service, constantly adapting the menu to highlight the freshest flavors. Their Mahi tacos and clam strips are local favorites, and they keep ingredients as fresh and local as possible. With its casual, beachy atmosphere, Surfside Grill blends laid-back vibes with high-quality food. Open 365 days a year from 9 AM to 5 PM, it’s the perfect spot to start or end a day of adventure—whether cycling, hiking, or paddling through the scenic inlet.
