CELEBRATING SOCIAL WORK MONTH 2025

Every March, we honor Social Work Month and the dedicated professionals who change lives through compassion and action. Social workers meet people where they are, providing guidance and support to help them navigate life’s challenges. Their commitment makes social work one of the fastest-growing professions in the U.S.

This year’s theme, “Social Work: Compassion + Action,” highlights the impact of their work. Through years of training, social workers empower individuals, families, and communities to reach their full potential.

At NOAS, our team goes above and beyond to support foster youth and families, providing the resources and stability they need to thrive. We are grateful for their dedication and the difference they make every day.

THANK YOU, WARREN CITY FEDERATION OF WOMEN'S CLUBS

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Warren City Federation of Women's Clubs and Terri Crabbs for their generous support and donation drive benefiting our Young Adult program. Your dedication to helping foster youth who have aged out of care means so much to us. We're also thankful for the opportunity to speak at your luncheon and share more about our mission. Your efforts are truly making a meaningful difference in their lives—thank you!

NOAS PARTNERS WITH MKC

NOAS is proud to become a partner with Project MKC, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Youngstown, dedicated to serving the most vulnerable children in Northeast Ohio. As a result of this project, we can provide diapers, wipes, and hygiene items to the young adults in our Bridges program. Prices are constantly rising, so we know it is challenging for many at this time. Our young adults with children will particularly benefit from this partnership.

DISCOVER TBRI®

Building Trust and Healing Through Connection

NOAS offers TBRI® (Trust-Based Relational Intervention) training for foster parents, caregivers, and professionals working with youth who have experienced trauma. This program focuses on building strong, trusting relationships through mindful awareness and engagement—disarming fear, strengthening attachment, and enhancing learning.

Rooted in the core principles of Connecting, Correcting, and Empowering, TBRI® emphasizes that connection is key to healing. For children who have faced trauma, meaningful relationships provide the foundation for growth. Two essential elements of the Connecting Principle are mindful awareness and engagement, with strategies such as playful interactions, behavior matching, and valuing eye contact helping to foster trust and security.

To learn more about TBRI® and the Connecting Principle, register for our next class on April 12 from 9 AM to 4 PM by emailing sgant@noas.com. View the full training schedule here.
