Annual Town Meeting - April 8th

Join us on Tuesday, April 8th at 6PM at the RFCCA Building (8020 Madison, River Forest - Room 202) for our Town Annual Meeting, an essential meeting where residents can engage with the Township leaders, learn about the Township activities, and participate in discussion on important community initiatives. This meeting is a valuable opportunity for civic engagement, for community members to voice concerns and ask questions. We will review key programs and services for our programs - Assessor, Seniors & Disability, Mental Health, Youth & Family and Township Administration, summarizing what happened this past fiscal year and discussing future plans.

Property Tax Exemption Applications - Now Available

If you turn 66 years of age in 2025, now is the time to apply for your Senior Exemption. Exemption applications for this year are now available online. Exemption booklets were mailed out in March. You can file your exemption application with The Cook County Assessor online at here

Cook County Assessor Open for Appeals - Deadline April 18th

River Forest Township is in the last year of the 2023 tri-annual re-assessment. If your property is assessed close to market value or you had a successful reduction of assessment with The Cook County Board of Review in the past two years, you may not need to appeal. Appeals are filed on-line with the Cook County Assessor here.

Parent University - April 10th

Parent University on Thursday, April 10th from 5:30-8:30PM at OPRFHS is an informative evening focused on supporting adolescent and teen mental health! Join educators, experts, and community providers for presentations and resource-sharing designed specifically for parents seeking to support their tweens’ and teens’ mental health. Keynote speaker Emily Edlynn will explore how we can support our children’s autonomy while maintaining boundaries and not losing our minds in the process. The evening will also offer sessions on how to help adolescents and teens develop and maintain a positive mindset when school is on break, how to understand the pressures they face to experiment with substances, and how to recognize signs and symptoms of anxiety and depression. Safe Gun Storage Saves Lives - April 16th

Join us on Wednesday, April 16th from 7-8PM at the Oak Park CRC to learn about safe gun storage, promoting safe storage in our community, and Firearm Restraining Orders (FRO) - a tool for loved ones to intervene, restricting a person’s access to guns when they pose a significant danger to themselves or others.
