Finding Wonder in Everyday Experiences

UCSB Library is pleased to present Jonathan Schooler (UCSB Psychological and Brain Sciences) in the Pacific Views: Library Speaker Series for Spring 2025.


Schooler will speak about a smartphone-based intervention his lab has been developing to promote curiosity through daily behavioral activities and "mindful curiosity" practices. Schooler's 45-minute presentation will be followed by a Q&A session. This event is in conjunction with UCSB Reads 2025.

The Library is now accepting applications for the 2025 Library Award for Undergraduate Research.


Undergraduate students who have produced a scholarly or creative work using Library resources are invited to apply by April 17. Winners receive monetary prizes.

New Resource: Open Source Programs Mailing List

The Library's new Open Source Program has launched a mailing list to promote community and knowledge sharing around open source software and hardware.


The program is part of a broader, grant-funded effort to create a UC-wide network of Open Source Program Offices (OSPOs).
