Hello everybody!
This past weekend we kicked off our Increased Offertory Program, but what’s that? Through intentional steps of communication and prayer, we are inviting all in our parish community to increase our financial support of our ministries, including our school, and help us fund the mission God has called us to in the portion of his vineyard he has entrusted to our care. As we seek a sustainable path forward, this initiative is extremely important and needs our prayerful support. Prayer is the heart of this effort as we seek to grow in relationship with God and follow his Son, Jesus, empowered by the Holy Spirit. Composed by members of our Pastoral Council and Finance Council, I invited you add the IOP prayer to your Lenten journey. We will also pray it at our masses, meetings, and gatherings throughout our community. It can be found HERE.
You should have received my first letter that provided a recap of our financial situation and debt service. In my homily this past weekend, I discussed our important mission, amazing community, and needs that can be watched HERE. We have also included inserts in our last two bulletins for your enrichment and consideration that can be seen HERE.
This weekend, a parishioner, Mark Kircher, will give witness to why he supports the mission of our community. You will receive my second letter with a brochure next week and, two weeks later, I’ll send you my final letter and a commitment card. The process culminates with our commitment weekend on Easter Sunday, April 20. Not everyone will be able or led to increase their financial stewardship for our parish and, in the midst of the uncertainty in our world, a commitment can be daunting. Every financial contribution is a faith decision in response to God’s grace that represents the effort, ability, talent, and precious time of the giver. I am deeply grateful for every gift, act of generosity, and sacrifice. Please prayerfully support this process and may we all come to know the bounty of God’s grace in our lives. Thank you!
Thanks, as well, to all who attended our Shenanigans event on Saturday and worked to make it a special and fun celebration of our patron saint. Likewise, thanks to the many families that came to our prayer service for St. Patrick last Friday before the fish fry.
God bless us all. St. Patrick, pray for us!
Peace,
Fr. Jeff
