Dear Friends and Members of the Chamber,

I’m thrilled to invite you to our exclusive Member Social at Nestldown, a breathtaking 36-acre privately owned estate renowned for its lush gardens, towering redwoods, and enchanting spaces. This special afternoon of connection and community includes a lovely luncheon and is a special opportunity to experience one of the most storied venues in our region while mingling with fellow members, Chamber staff, and our Board Members. Capacity is limited and registration closes March 11, so register now.

Speaking of connection, many of our Members have already joined the Chamber’s Slack messaging workspace, which will facilitate better communication and collaboration among Chamber Members and the Chamber team.

Spring is around the corner, and I am excited for our immensely popular Spring Wine Walk, which will return to the classic General Admission format, on Saturday, April 26th from 2-5pm.  Be sure to buy your early-bird tickets starting next weekend to avoid being disappointed when this event sells out! The VIP Experience component that we piloted in 2024 will be paused for 2025, but was such a hit that we will consider producing it as a standalone event in 2026.

Finally, keep a look out for the Member Survey this month. Your feedback is invaluable and helps us to serve you better, so please share your thoughts once it hits your inbox.

See you soon—both at the Member Social and on Slack!

Warmly,

Jennifer Lin

Advocacy Alert

Town: CLARIFICATION to Last Week’s Beach Traffic Alert

As of now, the Town Council has not made any decisions regarding beach traffic mitigation. The Town of Los Gatos Complete Streets and Transportation Commission's Beach Traffic Ad Hoc Committee issued a recommendation to the Town Council in December 2024 to initiate a capital study focused solely on studying and simulating local beach traffic patterns. Two larger-scale concepts (like a “Bike Boulevard” on University Avenue and a pedestrian promenade on North Santa Cruz Ave), were presented as exploratory ideas. The immediate goal is to analyze traffic data and model potential solutions to understand their impact—no actual changes are being made at this time.

Town: Town Council Greenlights 155-Unit Los Gatos Lodge Redevelopment

The Los Gatos Town Council unanimously approved replacing the iconic Los Gatos Lodge—open since 1958—with a 155-townhome project by SummerHill Homes. Councilmember Mary Badame recused herself, while other councilmembers cited the need for diverse housing options despite concerns about traffic and parking. The three-story development will include 26 affordable units, a new pedestrian path for Los Gatos High School, and an emergency exit. Construction is scheduled to begin later this year, with model homes expected by spring or summer 2027.
