If you can't join us in person, livestream is available through the Vinton Baptist Church app, at www.vintonbaptistchurch.org, and through our Facebook page.

Plan to do your Christmas shopping this Sunday, 12:30 - 4:00 PM, at our 4th annual Christmas Craft & Vendor Fair in the gym! You're sure to find some one-of-a-kind gifts, as we have 25+ vendors registered, each selling unique wares. We'll also have a gift wrapping service and concessions available, the proceeds of which will go to help fund our Youth Missions trip next summer! Spread the word and invite your friends!

Thursday Morning Small Group

Travis' Thursday Morning Small Group will meet next week on December 5th at 10 AM in the small dining room and will move to Pok-E-Joe's for lunch. We will not meet again until January 9th.

Steel Drum Concert

The Panamania Steel Drums Holiday Concert will take place in the Vinton Baptist sanctuary Saturday, December 7th at 3:00 PM. This is a free concert; a love offering will be taken. Come hear the sounds of the season with a Caribbean twist!

Mark Your Calendars!

We know that December gets busy very quickly. Please mark your calendars for Sunday, December 8th, when we will have a Cookie Exchange Social at 4:15 PM in the gym. Please bring a plate of your favorite cookies to share; if they're homemade, please bring the recipe to share also! At 5:00 PM we will have Ministry Matters (for the adults) and Art from the Heart/Mission Kids (for K - 5th grade). At 5:30 PM we will have Youth Dinner/Extreme.

Children's Minister Search Committee

At our Ministry Matters meeting December 8th, we will vote on the proposed members of our Children's Minister Search Committee: Holly Graham (our Human Resources representative), Ann Cranwell, Heather Jones, Christina Epperly, and Ken Williamson (our Deacon representative).

Christmas Musical

Our annual Christmas Musical, presented by the Chancel Choir & Orchestra, is scheduled for Sunday, December 15th at 10:30 AM. This year's presentation is "The Heart of Christmas"! We hope you'll invite your friends and family.

Please join us in welcoming Amber & Braden Crouch (pictured here with Colson) to membership at Vinton Baptist Church. Both are joining VBC by letter from previous churches. Sylvan Lichtenstein, who is Amber's father, also joined VBC by letter. We are so excited to officially welcome you all into our VBC church family! God bless you!

Christmas Poinsettias

It's that time of year to order poinsettias to decorate our sanctuary for Christmas. You can order in honor or memory of a loved one, and all memorials and honorariums will be noted in The Witness on Wednesday, December 18th. Each poinsettia is $11. All orders should be placed with the church office (540-343-7685) by December 8th. You are welcome to pick up your poinsettia and take it home with you after worship on December 29th.

Giving Tree/Family Christmas Tree

The Giving Tree is now up in the Welcome Center, and it is full of tags requesting gifts for local schoolchildren, kids from Keystone, and students from Boys & Girls Club. Please pick up a tag (or two) this Sunday, log your tags on the clipboard at the Welcome Center, then purchase and wrap the gift(s) requested on your tag(s). Return your gifts - with tags attached - by December 15th. Thank you for making a special Christmas possible for these kids!

Please note that as of Monday, December 2nd, the Giving Tree will transform into our Family Christmas Tree, which displays an ornament for each family in our church. If you are new to our church this year - or if you have never donated an ornament to represent your family - please bring your ornament and place it on our tree starting Monday. Please include your family's last name and the year "2024" on your ornament. Thanks!

Rescue Mission Children's Christmas Party

The Youth will hold a Christmas party for the children at the Rescue Mission on Wednesday, December 18th. If you are able to make a crock pot dish for this event, please see Whitney (540-343-7685 or whitney@vintonbaptistchurch.org). We want to make this a memorable time for these folks!

Bible Reading Plan

1st & 2nd Peter are next up on our Bible Reading Plan. Since this is a short work week, I'm going to refer you to the BibleProject for their explanation of these books, which is fascinating. Each video is approximately 8 minutes long. Please take a moment over this holiday weekend to watch them. Click on each link, please: 1 Peter and 2 Peter.
