About a month ago, my car was running sluggish, which was very frustrating. I took it to my mechanic, who said that all it needed was a tune-up. What a difference it made after the tune-up! It is running smoothly now.
How are you running, pastor?
Are you in need of a tune-up?
After the situation with my car, I contacted David Horton, President of Fruitland Bible College, and asked him if he could provide a tune-up for our pastors. We are blessed to host three tune-up courses on Monday, March 31. Not only will you get fed spiritually, you will get fed physically. The SYBA will be providing lunch and snacks.
Our own Scott Eanes, who is also a professor at Fruitland, will be leading the course on shepherding.
1 Peter 5:2-4 Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock; and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away.
Ben Tackett will be teaching the course on counseling.
Galatians 6:1 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.
Steve Blanton will be teaching the course on preaching.
2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.
Come and be part of our pastor tune-up and spend the day with other pastors.
