Square Up

It’s time to Square Up to raise money for security needs at our school! Our first Ivy fundraiser kicks off Monday, 10/14.

Here’s how it works: Every student needs to make at least five ASKS and/or EARNS to help their class fill up at least one chart of dollar amounts from $1-$100 (total $5050).

What’s an ASK? Scholars simply ask family and friends for a donation of any amount to ICA. It can be $1 or $100,000! There is no set amount. Every dollar counts. When the child asks for these donations, we hope they can talk about their school in a way that inspires the folks they are asking to give generously.

What’s an EARN? The scholars who love their school and want to play an active part in helping it complete jobs to earn money to give to the school. For example, a scholar can mow a yard for $25 and donate that money to Square Up. Or a scholar could feed the pet for a week to earn $2. Both would be equally celebrated.

There will be no individual competitions or prizes. Rather, each class that completes at least one Square Up chart will be rewarded with a special lunch and dessert with Dr. Withun.

The charts will be posted outside each classroom, and teachers will be sending updates on their class’s progress via their weekly newsletters. We need every class to complete one chart, and at least half of our classes to fill up two carts to hit our goal of $200,000. That money will be used to fund security needs at Ivy, and once those needs are met, any leftover funds will be designated for our playground.

Make your first Square Up donation today at https://secure.qgiv.com/for/squareupfundraiser

Please share this link with family and friends as well!

The total amount raised so far is $30,568.56!

A LOOK AT IVY ART THIS WEEK

This week in Ivy Art, students jumped back into our classical studies after finishing our painted pumpkins. If you haven’t had a chance, make sure to find your class pumpkin in downtown Prattville until the end of October.

The Week in Review

Outside of each classroom at Ivy Classical Academy is a bulletin board we call "the Wall of Excellence" where each class displays excellent work and the wonderful things they are learning. Take a look at some of the beautiful student work currently on display on the Walls of Excellence throughout the school!

October is the Month of Justice at ICA!

“I WILL TREAT EVERYONE WITH THE FAIRNESS AND RESPECT THEY DESERVE.”

Justice is understood as a moral principle that involves giving each person their due or what they deserve. Justice emphasizes principles of fairness, rights, social utility, and the promotion of the common good. It is a foundational concept in moral and political philosophy, serving as a guiding principle for the organization of societies and the regulation of human conduct.
