We will have an artist talk where all four artists will discuss their artistic journey, subject matter, creative process, and more with moderator, Amanda Karioth Thompson.

Feel free to drop off artwork up from October 1 - Nov 13th in the Art Program Coordinators office and fill out an artwork label and tape to the back of your artworks if you cannot bring it before 10am on November 14th.

COLORED PENCIL DRAWING Workshop with Libby Watson

November 4 - December 16 (6 weeks, no class November 11)

Mondays, 1 – 3:30 pm

Art Studio       $60

Students will be introduced to principles and techniques of basic colored pencil drawing using dry media with an emphasis on its formal language and working from photographs and direct observation. 

BASKETRY WOVEN CORN: THANKSGIVING EDITION with Leslie Cohen

November 6 (One Day Workshop)

Wednesday, 12:30 – 4:30 pm

Dining Room          $20

Decorate your home, your Thanksgiving table or seasonal front door with your own handcrafted basket woven corn. Leslie Cohen will teach you two basketry techniques- twining and plain weave with hand dyed fall colored reed. Fall inspired fun! Bring a towel and 5 gallon bucket all other supplies included.

Plein Air with Debbie Gaedtke

November 14 (One Day Workshop)

Thursday, 10am – 2pm

The Grove Museum      $15

Paint outdoors with instructor assistance at The Grove Museum. Materials list and more detailed information available on our website art workshop registration page. An email will go out prior to the event with meet up location.

BOTANICAL BAS RELIEF with Vivian Parmenter

December 6 – December 13 (2 weeks)

Fridays, 9 am – 12 noon

Clay Studio  $34

Learn the art of pressing flowers and leaves into clay. In this hands-on session, you'll create stunning designs by framing your work and pouring Plaster of Paris, painting your reliefs, and firing your clay relief. Suitable for all skill levels, this workshop offers a chance to connect with nature and express your creativity.

On-going studio classes meet on a weekly basis and do not require pre-registration; Pay the days you attend.  $10 per class Seniors (age 50+), $12 Others (age 18-49). Or buy an art card that gives you eight classes for the price of seven. Before joining, visit the class, chat with the instructor, and receive a supply list. Workshops do require pre-registration and pre-payment. All classes are located at the Senior Center Art Studio unless otherwise noted (under neighborhood locations). Clay Lab is $7 per class and Painting Lab is $5 per class. Please email the art program coordinator for the Clay and Painting Lab dates - since they change frequently.
