RESIDENTIAL BLOCK HOUSING
Finally, Residence Life and Housing and Campus Life acknowledge the common desire of students to live with other students who share similar interests. While these commonalities can be formed around many interests, including having lived together in the first-year residence halls, students often desire to live with other students as a part of a student group in which they participate.
As these groups can facilitate community and leadership growth, recognized organizations/teams can request a housing block in non-freshman residence halls. The initial block size and further increases or decreases are determined by a number of factors, but chief among those factors are stability, sustainable size, and the positive contributions of the group to the residential community. Please note that it is not reasonable that a block size would ever consist of a significant portion of an organization’s membership.
Full block policies and procedures are available HERE.
ALL REQUESTS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 9 AM. EST ON WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 26.
Those wishing to live in Fraternity/Sorority Blocks should contact their chapter leadership, who will submit a request and roster on behalf of the organization. Student-athletes wishing to live on or form a block should discuss this desire with their coaches.
