Another exciting week of news and a survey (short but VERY IMPORTANT) plus lots more...
Best news first - with the confirmation of Belleville as a recipient of HART Hub funding - and we heard at last week's breakfast this was the 16th attempt to have local mental health/care services supported by provincial funding. Congratulations to the team who have persevered to bring in these much needed resources.
While this is great news for Belleville, there were multiple communities that did NOT receive funding, and as part of the Chamber's work we are launching a quick survey to identify the impact of community safety on your business. 16 other Chambers are reaching out to their members to add our Voice at the provincial level to emphasize the urgent need for support across Ontario.
SUBMIT YOUR RESPONSE HERE - COMMUNITY SAFETY IMPACT SURVEY
This is a first step towards a larger research project being coordinated through Loyalist College, expected to launch in April.
The Government Affairs committee has been very busy preparing for the upcoming OCC deadline to submit policy resolutions (and a full report below) and, with the confirmation of an upcoming provincial election, they will be working on the questions for our public candidate's debate on Tuesday, February 18 at the Empire Theatre. See the link below to submit your question/concern for consideration by the committee and we have also launched a new "member issue form" where you can tell us about government/policy/regulatory issues impacting your business.
Another "Save the Date" for an upcoming Mingle on February 13 - details are just coming together but we're looking forward to a night of love and laughter with UNAC-Quinte and The Children's Foundation.
