TWN Production Workshop

For Social Justice Filmmakers

The TWN (Third World Newsreel) Production Workshop is an intensive 6-month program designed for emerging filmmakers passionate about social issues. The workshop focuses on practical skills for historically marginalized communities with limited access to institutional film programs or resources.



Key Features:


Duration: 6-month intensive course, with weekly classes and bi-weekly Saturday labs, starts in March.

Comprehensive Curriculum: Covers research, scripting, production, and editing. Participants create their own short film.

Expert Instructors: Learn from professionals active in the industry.

Focus: Ideal for those interested in creating films about social issues.



Commitment & Requirements:


Time Commitment: Classes meet virtually once a week at 6:00 PM, plus 6-8 in-person Saturday labs.

Requirements: Attend all sessions and fulfill pre-production to post-production demands. Previous production is beneficial but not mandatory. Essential qualities include self-initiative, openness to feedback, collaboration, and meeting deadlines.

Capacity: Limited to 9 participants. Selection involves a written application and interview.

Cost: $600 (payment in installments available).

Credits at Goddard College: Through our partnership with Goddard College, students can earn credits towards BA or BFA programs by completing the TWN Production Workshop. This opportunity is open to all students currently enrolled at Goddard College. Interested students should fill out our application, making sure to mention their enrollment at Goddard College.
