THIS WEEK'S TALK BY
REV. Cath DePalma
"Love Work"
Part 2
| |
What is “Love Work”? “Love Work” is continuing to live in the question, expose ourselves to new ideas, ask for help when we are stuck, continuing to evolve as a divine human being. The most loving thing we can do is to take charge of our own lives by loving and accepting ourselves. That’s living from our future potential! When we do, everyone, everywhere benefits.
- Rev. Cath DePalma

Lisa Firestone will be Unity's Guest Speaker for their women’s group on Saturday, February 15th at 9:45am at a breakfast potluck, themed “FAITH: THE COURAGE TO BELIEVE!”

Community Dialogue on our Mission and Purpose
There will be a Community Dialogue on our Mission and Purpose in the Fellowship Hall after our Sunday Service on February 16th from 1:30pm to 3:00pm.

CSLN and Unity will host a joint event addressing Human Trafficking Awareness on Sunday, March 2, 2025 from 10:45 am to 11:45 am in the CSLN classroom located in the hallway between Fillmore Hall and the front foyer.
Director of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese FREEDOM (Faith-based Response to Eradicate Enslavement: Didactic Outreach Ministry) and Ministry’s Director, Rev. Dr. Peter Spiro, will conduct a Human Trafficking Awareness and Mitigation presentation for our congregants to learn more about this modern day form of slavery and how we can have impact.

CSLN Annual Meeting And Election of Board of Trustees Members set for April 27, 2025
Our Community Annual Meeting will be held on April 27th after the Sunday Service. The Board of Trustees Nominating Committee is looking for qualified candidates to run for the Board for a 3-year term. We will be electing two new Board Members. If you are interested, please send an email to admin@cslnashville.org.
It has come to the attention of the Board that two current Board member terms are set to expire this year but they have only served a total of five years. It has been common practice for Board members to serve a total of six years (i.e. 2 – 3 year terms or 3 - 2 year terms per our Bylaws) before they have to take one year off before running for the Board again. Because of previous Bylaw changes 2 of our Board members fell thru the cracks. After consultation with our lawyer, it was recommended that the Board pass a resolution to allow these 2 Board members to complete the 6th year afforded all other board members. The Board will discuss and vote on passing this resolution at the next board meeting in February. This will simplify our future Board transitions.
Sincerely, The Board of Trustees, CSLN

CARING HEARTS CORNER
Welcome to the Caring Hearts Corner! This space is dedicated to keeping you informed about the needs in our community and how you can lend a helping hand.
Community Needs and Celebratory Events
● Dottie Uwaifo, one of our cherished practitioners, has requested prayers for her nephew, who recently experienced a tragic car accident in which several of his friends lost their lives. Please hold Dottie’s nephew and the grieving families in your hearts and prayers during this difficult time.
● Marietta Carter, another of our beloved practitioners, has requested prayers and prayer treatment for her mom who is currently in the hospital.
● Caring Hearts and the Women's Group hosted a special celebratory going away luncheon for Marcia Gregory. This event took place on Tuesday February the 11th at 12:00 noon at Dalt's restaurant in Nashville. It was a heartfelt and wonderful celebration of a very beloved CSLN member about to embark on a new adventure in her new home in Oregon. Thank you to all 17 members who attended and brought so much love to this special day!
Upcoming Meetings
The Caring Hearts team met in person on Sunday, February 9th from 1:00pm until 3:00pm. The team discussed current members in need, the solidification of the new Caring Hearts Request/Referral Form and new directions for the future.
Caring Hearts new meeting time will be the second Monday of every month from 6:00pm - 7:00pm on Zoom beginning Monday, March 10th.
Current members will receive a zoom link prior to the meeting.
Resources
The new Caring Hearts Request/Referral Form will be available soon!
All assistance requests must be sent to this form for review and follow up by the Caring Hearts team. This will ensure a confidential and streamlined process for all current CSLN members seeking short term assistance with needs under the umbrella of services that we can help with. All referrals of an urgent nature will be referred in house to our team, CSLN Practitioners or resources on our Critical Resources List.
We are currently working out the technical details of the form. It should be available to community members within the week. In the meantime, please contact Erica Leeds, erica.l.leeds@gmail.com with requests.
We now have a Critical Resources List to assist those in need. The resources on this list direct those in need regarding emergent situations including crisis events as well as everyday support for needs such as utility assistance, mental health support, medical and transportation assistance, amongst many other categories. This array of services is primarily under the umbrella of United Way's 211 information line. Anyone can access this to help themselves or others.
The critical resources list is available now on our website and can be found by clicking on About Us > Teams and scrolling to the bottom of the page.
How You Can Help
You don’t need to be part of the Caring Hearts team to assist. Any support is appreciated! Our team will continue to share updates about our plans, member requests, and other ways you can serve.
If you are a CSLN member and are in need of assistance or know of someone else from our community that needs help or has something to celebrate, please reach out to Erica Leeds at erica.l.leeds@gmail.com. If you are referring to someone else, please confirm with them that they need help before referral.
Thank you for embodying the spirit of care and compassion in our community. Together, we make a difference!

BOOKSTORE BUZZ
The bookstore has ordered the Self-Mastery Class’s books, but they have been slow coming in. Please check with me to see if they have come in. We only ordered five books because there were only five people enrolled at the time, so you may need to find another source, but check first.
We ordered a new prosperity book: The Abundance Book by John Randolph Price. This little book has a wealth of advice on prosperity. It’s small enough to carry in a pocket or purse. This book is priced at $6.00 per copy.
We also received an order of This Thing Called You, by Ernest Holmes. This little book is one of the most requested books written by our founder. It’s a small book, and easy to read. If you are new to Science of Mind, it’s a great introduction to our beliefs. And for veteran members, it’s a good review. This book is priced at $15.00.
Also, don’t forget that we still have a supply of Candy Paul’s books, both the Art of books (only $5.00) and the 101 Ways books ($2.50 per book). They make great presents!
If you need any other literature, including the Science of Mind textbook and Living the Science of Mind, come see me. I am in the bookstore after the service every Sunday. The bookstore is located to the right of the lobby, in the same space as the classroom, but on the left side of the room.
We also have a small lending library in the Meditation Room. If you want to browse that, it is open before Meditation and after the service, and if you want to donate to it, please let me know. Our space is limited, but we appreciate all donations.

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT
Alan Woodard, RScP
There is one life, God’s life and my life. This divine presence and consciousness operates through me as perfect health, as overflowing abundance, supportive and enriching relationships, love, peace and harmony in my daily life. I declare through divine action I will be present in each moment. With love as my guide and with my connection to the principles of the Science of Mind I am supported in all my actions. I feel my life surrounded with beauty and grace. With each breath I express kindness, courage, patience, confidence and wisdom guiding me to enriching opportunities in my life.
I give great gratitude for my wonderful life. I rejoice in this knowing and I accept this truth to be who I am; perfect, whole and complete in every way. Thank you, Spirit for this magnificent life, my life!
I now release this prayer treatment to the law knowing it is so, I let it be so and So It Is!
