News from Crinan

Spring is in the air and the Crinan Hotel Team looks forward to welcoming you back to Crinan.

We have had some glorious sunny days over the last few weeks with clear blue skies and sparkling seas. There are daffodils and other spring flowers coming out all around the village and the days are getting longer.

There is a special menu for Mother's Day, MV Sgarbh is back in the water for boat trips and there are new paintings to enjoy in the Gallery Bar on the top floor of the hotel. A special Art and Music Weekend (Friday 4th to Sunday 6th April) includes a new book about the Scottish Colourists from Guy Peploe and a special "colourists selection" of wines which will be introduced by Will from de Burgh wines.

Our chefs have put together a special menu for Mother's Day.

This menu will be available for lunch or dinner on Sunday March 30th as will our Seafood Bar A la carte menu.

MV Sgarbh is back in the water for boat trips

Art and Music at the Crinan Hotel

Special Art and Music Weekend - Friday 4th to Sunday 6th April

Guy Peploe will be introducing his new book on the Scottish Colourists.

Will from de Burgh Wines will be bringing a "colourists selection" of wines including some which they loved to drink while painting in Provence including some Provençal rosés.

Work by Kate Whiteford, RSA, OBE, will be hung in Lock 16 and there will be a new selection of paintings by Frances Macdonald in the Gallery Bar. Kate Whiteford has work on display in the Tate Gallery.

Musical entertainment will be by Robert Berry who will be playing the Dave Brubeck piano in the Gallery Bar.

Art Residency at the Crinan Hotel

This year we will be continuing "The Crinan Art Residency" which includes an opportunity to stay at the Crinan Hotel. The week long residencies will run from March to October.

Crinan has long been ‘drawing’ artists to the area. Islands, a canal, Atlantic woodlands and stone age sites are just a few of the iconic landmarks that offer so much creativity.

A studio is provided at the Annex art centre, just 20 yards down from the hotel. You can also join our boat trips aboard the MV Sgarbh.

Each residency is for one person. Complimentary accommodation and breakfast will be provided at the Crinan Hotel.

Well behaved dogs have always been welcome at the Crinan Hotel

There is a great range of options for walks in the Crinan area - you might like a gentle amble along the Canal towpath which is undemanding, a stroll through the woods or for more energetic dogs and their owners, there are hills to climb which give access to panoramic views over the Sound of Jura and the surrounding countryside.
