OES Team Promotes and Grows

Congratulations to Jenn, Erin, and Naomi (L to R) who all received promotions over the past few months. And welcome to Hallie (far right)!

Hallie Grant is excited to join the Office of Environment and Sustainability as the new Energy Coordinator. In this role, she will help to advance energy efficiency efforts within city facilities and improve fleet electrification and corresponding charging infrastructure, in line with the goals of the Green Cincinnati Plan. Hallie recently earned her master's in Environment, Politics & Society from University College London (UCL) in London, UK, and holds a bachelor's in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati with minors in Marketing and Environmental Analysis & Policy. She hopes to leverage her technical and social science background and longstanding passion for environmental protection to make a tangible sustainability impact in her hometown of Cincinnati. In her free time, Hallie enjoys film photography, hiking, travel, and checking out an overly ambitious number of books from the Cincinnati Public Library.

GCP Partner Spotlight: Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio

The Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio is on a mission to end generational poverty and is a valuable partner of OES. One goal of GCP is to develop pathways into the green workforce for the unemployed, under-employed, and youth. Another goal is to establish specified community centers as resilience hubs. The Building Futures program, which readies people for union apprenticeships in the building trades, is just one of the Urban League’s valuable pipelines that assist and guide people living in underserved communities into stable, well-paying green jobs. Additionally, the Urban League has partnered with OES to develop a strategic plan to turn their Avondale facility into a resilience hub. They will execute an energy audit to make the facility more efficient and identify upgrades, such as solar power with battery storage, which will ensure the facility can serve the community in the event of a power outage. Furthermore, the Urban League and OES are soliciting input from Avondale residents for designing the Urban League’s resilience hub strategy. Residents’ input is key to ensuring that the resilience hub meets the unique needs of the Avondale community. Keep up the great work, Urban League!

If your organization's mission aligns with any of the GCP priority actions, please visit our website to learn more about becoming an official GCP Partner.
