LSBC announced our approval for funding from PacifiCan’s Business Acceleration Pilot (BizAp) at the end of January. After consultation with industry experts and our advisory council, we are officially launching our Life Sciences Growth Catalyst Project. This project is aimed at supporting the expansion of BC's high-growth life sciences companies in making a meaningful impact on the sector. Key program elements include educational courses, organized trade and investment missions, support at international conferences such as BIO, JPM, MedTech, quarterly update meetings, and potential participation in Invest in BC for interested companies. High-growth companies in two streams: Therapeutics and MedTech are encouraged to learn more and apply. | |

Health Canada has an open consultation following its Notice of Intent to regulate certain fentanyl precursor chemicals and the drug carisoprodol under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).
Proposed substances include:
Phenethyl bromide, Propionic anhydride, Benzyl chloride, and Carisoprodol.
This 10-day consultation closes on February 24, 2025. Health Canada is seeking input from stakeholders on the use of these chemicals in various industries, including pharmaceuticals, production, and research. Read more.
