Grace is Going to a Basketball Game
THIS SATURDAY!
| |
Hello Basketball fans! Did you know Grace Lutheran is among the leading Rock Hill churches in supporting Winthrop University in their athletics and fine arts? Seems so fitting since our origin is steeped in Winthrop University history. I, for one, am very proud we continue to keep our connection strong.
Your Parish Life committee has chosen Saturday, February 15 -2:00pm at the Winthrop Coliseum as a chance for all of us to go and cheer our Eagles on in their game against the highly ranked High Point Panthers. Click HERE to pre-order special group rate $5 tickets. Also mention you would like to be seated in Section 122.
GO EAGLES!!!!!

Taking Part in Sunday Hospitality
If you’ve ever wondered about what’s involved in hosting hospitality, please read on!
Hospitality (the ‘coffee hour’ between services) is simple and a great way to take part in the fellowship ministry of Grace.
The Parish Life Committee has created an easy "How To" for anyone interested in hosting hospitality! This How To includes details and people to contact for help.
Please click HERE to learn about Hospitality, and sign up to host in the Fellowship Hall!

A New Worship Opportunity at Grace:
WELCM Evening Prayer, Sundays at 7 PM
- If you have to be at work on Sunday mornings,
- If you are on the road on Sunday mornings,
- If you have family or civic responsibilities on Sunday mornings,
- If you happen to be at the golf course on Sunday morning,
- or if you are otherwise prevented from worshiping on Sunday mornings,
this might be a great opportunity for you!
Students from Grace's WELCM campus ministry and members of the WELCM Committee gather on Sunday Evenings at 7:00 PM in the nave at Grace for Evening Prayer. This includes hymns, prayers, Scripture reading, a brief meditation, and, occasionally, Holy Communion.
You are invited! We look forward to seeing you!
Gods Peace,
Pastor Hahn,
WELCM Campus Minister

A “Thank You” and an Invitation from our Campus Minister
On behalf of the students involved in Grace’s campus ministry at Winthrop University (WELCM), I would like to say “thank you” for your prayers, your financial gifts, and your practical support with providing meals for the Tuesday gatherings. You are sharing God’s Love in a practical way. It is greatly appreciated!
This semester, the students are gathering on Sunday evening for Evening Prayer, and the program time of the Tuesday gatherings focuses on Bible study. It delights me to see these young people bring their questions to the Holy Scriptures and to receive answers and inspiration.
The “glue” that anchors each Tuesday gathering is, of course, the homecooked meal by one or two households from Grace.
Would you be willing to share the Love of God in a practical way and provide a meal for a Tuesday student gathering in March or April? Feel free to partner with another household. Please use the link below to learn more and to select a date that works for you. I thank you in advance.
God’s Peace,
Pastor Hahn

Lutheran Services Carolinas Calls for Action on Refugee Support
Lutheran Services Carolinas, one of our mission partners, filmed a video last week, responding to the accusations of illegal activity taking place within the programs of Lutheran Social Services.
LSC took this opportunity to share more about what the refugee resettlement programs truly involve, and how our support of these programs lives into Jesus' words:
"I was a stranger and you welcomed me."
You may recognize the background of the video - Grace was glad to provide space for this important message to be filmed!
Please click on the image below for the video and statement from LSC (you can read the statement by clicking on the description below the video on YouTube).
