President’s Message
The snow continues to fall; not in huge amounts, but enough to keep the trails in decent riding condition. The early season base created by our grooming staff and the small but steady amounts of snow have resulted in some nice trail riding. I am always amazed by what the Bo-Boen groomer drivers are able to do with the snow we get. Snowmobile traffic has been steady, but the riding is still good. Our map advertisers look forward to your visits and greeting new and old friends.
It was another great groomer show at Arrowhead Groomers. Thank you to Clint and Katie Hamblen for letting us operate our food concession again this year. Thanks to all the volunteers who made the event successful. The Italian beef and pulled pork sandwiches, both new this year, were a big hit.
We had another opportunity to showcase St. Germain and the Bo-Boen trails to customers of Leone’s Polaris from Peru, Illinois. The Leone’s sponsored a customer appreciation ride which included a stop at the Bo-Boen groomer barn for lunch. Thank you for giving us an opportunity to raise funds for our grooming operations and for the donation you made to our Club. Thanks to the Bo-Boen volunteers who hosted this event.
Our Annual Meeting is next month, Thursday March 13th, at Knocker’s Pizza Company. It is our last membership meeting of the season and the annual election of officers and two of our directors. Their candidate statements appear later in this newsletter. It is also when we draw the winners for our annual cash raffle. Good luck to those of you who bought tickets.
Please respect our landowners by staying on the marked trail. We greatly appreciate their generosity letting us use their property for the snowmobile trails. Remember to ride your side of the trail and please patronize our map advertisers. Enjoy the Bo-Boen snowmobile trails.

The snow arrived just in time for us to host Leone's Polaris Customer Appreciation lunch on Saturday, February 8. Not surprisingly, we received numerous reports of smooth Bo-Boen trails.
Thank you for your support of our Club!

Groomer Show 2025
This year’s Groomer Show was well attended thanks to some snow on the ground! Many thanks to Hamblen Equipment for allowing us to provide lunch and for all of their assistance in setting up the food area. This was a very successful event for the Bo-Boen Club and could not have happened without our many volunteers: Janelle Ewen, Peggy Ausloos, Mark Meyer, Judy Schell, Carla Klein, Roxanne Platz, Joanne DeWig, Dennis Dieter, Ron Rhodes, Barb Steinhilber, Francine Suchocki and Don Baumann (hope I didn’t miss anyone). Several went above and beyond: Bob Strand, Bill Humphrey, Nancy Szott, Wayne Suchocki, Roger Klein, Ozzie Ausloos, Fred Suchy, Curly Warner, Mike Zauner and Kevin O’Meara. We also had some wonderful baked goods donated by our “club bakers”! Thunderbird Pass donated the chili which was a big hit.
The menu was changed this year to include Italian beef and pulled pork (both were awesome) as well as brats, chili, chips, soda, coffee and hot chocolate. And lots of sweets!
Again, thanks to all who helped, we could not have done it without you!!

Volunteer for the Classic Sled Round Up!
The Snowmobile Hall of Fame will hold their annual Classic Sled Round Up at the St. Germain Town Park on Sunday, May 25, 2025. The Round Up features vintage snowmobile displays and one of the best swap meets in the Midwest. It is a fun event that is very well attended by sledders and enthusiasts from across the country.
The Bo-Boen Club will again be running the concessions for this event, which is a key fundraiser for our club. As such, we are looking for volunteers to help cook and serve our delicious burgers and brats to hungry customers. Since it is a holiday weekend, it is a great opportunity for out-of-towners to help and meet other members in the club.
The event runs from 7 am to 3 pm and we will have two shifts, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, so as not to take up your whole day. If you are interested in baking, cooking or serving, please click here to sign up.
Thank you for considering this opportunity.

Trail Boss Report
Hello,
I want to thank everyone. It was a crazy start but everyone stuck together to make this an awesome season. We have a wonderful team who jumped through hoops to make everything work. With each and every snowflake that came down the groomer operators were able to put it in its proper place. Sometimes they had to "rob Peter to pay Paul". It was hard to do anything with the trails subject to the sun's rays. All in all, I saw nothing but smiles and "thumbs up" when I was out on the trails. We still have a little more than a month left so keep your fingers crossed. We still might get that "Big One"!

The Apple Dumpling Gang finally had a group ride on Wednesday, February 12th.
On Tuesday, February 18th, twelve Dumplings and two guests went on a three-day overnight trip by sled to White Pine, Michigan. We had been unable to do a trip for the last two winters.
Regular weekly lunch rides will continue as long as conditions allow. We leave at 9 a.m. on Wednesdays from the Bo-Boen Groomer Barn.
