TJC 2025 Statement

As we enter 2025, the Transformative Justice Coalition (TJC) extends to all of you the promise of bold, innovative and steadfast racial justice advocacy across this nation! TJC will advocate in every social, economic, and political sector where we can bear influence and impact. TJC will, absolutely and undauntedly, continue to prioritize investing in the political education, activation, and engagement of GenZ and Young Millennials.

On this 60th Anniversary of Bloody Sunday and the Voting Rights Act of 1965, we look forward to partnering with you in our mutual dedication to the achievement of a free, just and inclusive multiracial democracy. We are the inheritors of a sacred and profound vision of equality and human dignity for All people.

We will not be deterred from this pursuit by the ugly combination of anti-democracy, white supremacist, patriarchal, nationalistic and oligarchic forces exercising raw and brutal power to suppress our quest. TJC will not cower nor be silenced when our voices need to be amplified. Over the centuries, Americans have wrestled with the lies, deceptions, racial and social divisions and injustices perpetuated by these forces.

Project 2025, and other backward, disenfranchising, impoverishing, unconstitutional and unjust policies are “reruns” of battles we have fought and defeated over the decades, sometimes centuries. Whether confronting attacks on voting rights, civil rights, labor rights, disability rights, reproductive justice, the First Amendment, LGBTQIA+ rights, immigrant and migrant issues, environmental justice, the social safety net, or educational opportunities, TJC will be on the frontlines educating the public, organizing in coalition, and resisting injustice.

In the difficult and tense year ahead, it is imperative that we affirmatively advance our vision and mission by promoting positive policies at every level. We must be relentless and undeterred in our efforts to protect the right to vote.. “Free The Vote!” We must work to fight racism; to unrelenting combat Hate; to protect workers rights; to protect our environment; to promote income equality; to reduce hunger and homelessness; to promote universal and affordable healthcare; to advance rights of those with disabilities; to embrace LGBTQIA equality; to enhance women’s rights; to protect women’s reproductive rights; to build educational opportunity; to demand policing accountability; and to redress historic injustices and further diversity. In essence, we must work together to build a true multi-racial, diverse, and inclusive democracy!

This challenging moment requires our united and active opposition to injustice and strong promotion of our vision. Our work is to stand strong and Fight Forward! Join Us, Stand with Us, Fight with Us!!!

I Am Martin Social Media Campaign

We are truly excited about the "I AM MARTIN!" campaign. Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once famously stated that in the battle for Civil Rights that, "our ultimate end must be the creation of the beloved community."

The Transformative Justice Coalition (TJC) will kick off a five (6) day social media tribute to the legacy of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in an effort to help achieve the "beloved community" of which Dr. King spoke.  Beginning January 15, 2025 and running until January 20, 2025, TJC will sponsor the, "I AM MARTIN!" social media campaign.

TJC believes that the life lessons of love, kindness, and togetherness exhibited by Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., are qualities that should be emulated by everyone. It is in that spirit that TJC is pleased to sponsor the "I AM MARTIN!" social media campaign and invites YOU to make a positive difference in your community.  We are asking that you engage in the “I AM MARTIN!” social media campaign. Below is a link to a Canva template that you can modify, containing three images we would appreciate you using on your social media platforms.

Additionally, we have provided a video that offers instructions on editing images using Canva. Once you have finished modifying the pictures, kindly post them on your social media accounts as frequently as you like between January 15th - 20th. Why should they care (benefit)? What do I want them to do (call-to-action)?

Join us January 21, 2025 in Brunswick, Georgia as we support the family of the slain Ahmaud Arbery. The Former DA Jackie Johnson has been criminally indicted for violating her oath of office and interfering with a police officer as a result of favortisim for Greg McMichael, a former employee of hers, who participated in the Racially Motivated Hate Crime of murder of our brother Ahmaud Arbery. As Feburary 23, 2025 will mark the 5th anniversary of Ahmaud's death, it is imperative that Jackie is held accountable for her crimes in order to achieve 100% "Justice for Ahmaud". The Transformative Justice Coalition will be there in support side by side with the Arbery family and we ask you to do the same.
