Here are the highlights of our upcoming events and recent activity online. Not everything is included due to timeliness.

If an advertised event already took place, we've left it off.

Unlimited Parenting - New Episode!

A NEW episode of IPUL Found it on Facebook is ready for your ears!

In this series, Melissa and Allison deep dive into questions we've found in Idaho Facebook groups. We research the answers to a few questions so that you don't have to! In this episode we answer the questions:

1.)What do you need to obtain an IEP?

2.)How have your kids humbled you recently?

3.)What is the difference between an Independent intervention specialist and an independent intervention professional?

4.)My son has Medicaid through the YES program, but recently got diagnosed with Autism. Is there any benefit to applying for Katie Beckett? Or should we just stay on YES? If we get Katie Beckett, do we have to do the yearly qualification evaluations like YES?

And a surprise bonus question; listen in to find out!

News: States Told Not To Skimp On Medicaid Coverage For Kids With IDD

Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator Chiquita Brooks-LaSure speaking before a senate panel in 2021

Medicaid programs nationwide are supposed to offer a basic menu of services to children with developmental disabilities, but some states have been skirting these responsibilities. Now, federal officials are amping up pressure to comply.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services recently issued new guidance detailing what are known as Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment, or EPSDT, requirements. The mandate is designed to ensure that children participating in Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program have access to a broad array of prevention, diagnostic and treatment services.

For kids with developmental disabilities, that can mean having access to everything from well-child visits and dental care to mental and behavioral health services, medical specialists and much more. Read the Full Article Here
