Nurses excel on national licensure exam

Graduates of Edgecombe Community College’s Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program achieved a 95 percent pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). This score surpassed the national pass rate of 91 percent for ADN programs.


The NCLEX-RN measures the competencies needed to perform safely and effectively as an entry-level nurse. Graduates who pass the exam may practice as a registered nurse.

Edgecombe Community College and East Carolina University forge new pathway for success

Edgecombe Community College signed a bilateral agreement with East Carolina University Monday, February 17 on the ECC campus. The agreement will enable ECC students to finish their Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Geospatial Technology-Geographic Information Science, and complete their BS in either Geographic Information Science and Technology or in Geography at ECU.


“Anytime you can come together and either establish or grow a relationship with great partners like ECU, that’s a wonderful thing to do,” said Dr. Greg McLeod, ECC president.

ECC President celebrates graduates during Rocky Mount Housing Authority ceremony

Dr. Greg McLeod, ECC President, was the guest speaker for the Rocky Mount Housing Authority’s (RMHA) Self-Sufficiency Completion Ceremony. According to the RMHA website, the graduation recognizes participants who “have succeeded in meeting their goals towards self-sufficiency.” 


The graduates completed two programs to assist in building their financial security and becoming economically independent.
