Dear St. Francis Xavier School Families,
I’m excited to share an update about our Catholic Identity Committee (CIC), introduced at Back to School Night this fall as part of our strategic planning for the school.
The Catholic Identity Subcommittee exists to maintain and enrich the Catholic identity of St. Francis Xavier School. Our purpose is to encourage liturgical living in the domestic churches of our school and parish families, to build a bridge connecting parish, school, and home, and to provide opportunities for service projects, continued faith formation, virtue development, and spiritual growth.
The members of this group include:
- Fr. Ryan Healy
- Haley Rogers
- Anabela Shaughnessy
- Derek Arruda, parent (PS4)
- Linda Devere, parishioner
- Nicholas & Kristin Carrigg, parents (grs. 2 & 4)
- Violet Hurst, parent (gr 1)
- Danielle Cohn, parent (PS4, K, gr. 2)
- Andrea Corrie, grandparent (grs. 1, 2, 5)
- Jacob Stanley, parent (PS4)
I’d also like to invite you to the first event co-sponsored by the CIC: a Young Families Holy Hour, open to all school families. This will take place on Saturday, February 1st, at 1 PM in the church.
While our parish has adoration available weekly in the Adoration Chapel, this Holy Hour will be held in the main church and is designed especially for families with young children (yes, even the loud ones!). There will be music, guided prayer, and coloring sheets for the little ones.
If you’ve never experienced Eucharistic Adoration, this is a wonderful opportunity to come and learn about this beautiful way to pray as a family. Our school typically has monthly adoration led by the Maronite Sisters, and this event will give families a chance to experience it together. You’re welcome to stop by for as long as you’d like.
Afterward, there will be refreshments downstairs in the church hall. We hope to see you there!
Blessings,
Fr. Ryan
