Topic: Organizations Preparing for Emergency Needs (OPEN)

This month John Watkins, FEMA Educational & Training Officer will be presenting, "Organizations Preparing for Emergency Needs" (OPEN). This training will guide participants on how to identify risks, locate resources, and take disaster preparedness actions. When Community-Based Organizations, such as food pantries, childcare, and non-profits, are unable to sustain operations during an emergency incident, individuals who rely on them are exponentially impacted. Because of their importance in keeping the community going, OPEN is designed to empower these organizations with emergency preparedness training to better prepare for incidents.

Topic: Is it Behavior or Sensory Processing Difficulties?

This month, April Campbell, Owner of Sensory Seekers, LLC joins us.

You may feel unsure how to respond to a student’s challenging or unpredictable behaviors. Often, when you feel you have finally figured out how to manage the behavior, something changes, and it becomes challenging again.

Did you know the child’s sensory system may be responsible for these challenging behaviors?

In this training, we will look at how adjusting your teaching style and curriculum by incorporating full-body sensory activities in all parts of the day can help elevate these big behaviors.
