Luminary Loppet - February 8

There are still tickets available for the magical Luminary Loppet. If you haven't read the Hill & Lake Press yet, the February issues covers the history of this event along with beautiful photos.

The "Mall" Park and Proposed Parking Changes

The Minneapolis Park and Rec Board has conducted a study on parking along the "Mall" and is proposing changes. There is quite a bit of information on their website.


Would you like to learn more and share your opinion? Project staff will present findings of the study and answer questions before the East Isles Neighborhood Association monthly meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 11, starting at 6 pm at Grace-Trinity Community Church, 1430 W 28th St.

Happy Hour February 13


CIDNA is hosting our monthly Happy Hour on Thursday, February 13, from 5:30 - 7:30 at Taberna. CIDNA will purchase the appetizers - the beverages are on you. We hope to see you at this casual community-building event.

CIDNA is Hiring - Part Time Coordinator

Would you like to get more involved with CIDNA AND get paid for it? CIDNA is seeking a Coordinator for 5 - 8 hours per week. Most of the work can be done remotely and flexibly. Some in-person (for board meetings) is ideal but not required. For more information.

Continued Improvements at South Cedar Point

CIDNA resident Mark Schmidt has continued his leadership in this sometimes forgotten gem of an area in our neighborhood. In 2024, 813 volunteer hours were spent on improvements, including 10,000 square feet of newly cleared and seeded areas. Photo is of an area seeded 5 years ago.

Winter Party - January 25


The winter party was a huge success! Thanks to everyone who came out for the event, and for CIDNA volunteer Beth Swedberg and CIDNA board members Patty Schmitz and Amanda Vallone for helping to pull the event off.

Art Shanty Project

Weekends, January 18 - February 9, 2025

10AM - 4PM


Each winter Art Shanty Projects hosts an immersive art program on Bdé Umáŋ / Lake Harriet.


Artists embrace the challenges and opportunities of winter and the ephemeral nature of a frozen winter landscape to create a temporary vibrant and colorful public art community. Come experience the interactive and engaging art and performances.
