Young Audiences Arts for Learning of Northeast Texas uses the arts to enrich the lives of students and enhance their education.

Welcome to Arts for Learning, the Young Audiences of Northeast Texas quarterly newsletter. Our newsletters are sent out in March, June, September, and December of each year to keep you up to date on all the wonderful things our organization is doing because of your support!

Happy December!

Program Highlights

During the month of October, we partnered with Region 7 ESC to provide incredible professional storytellers for their GT Imagination Fair for full day workshops!

Dru Woods captivated students with her approach to character and storytelling through puppetry. And Chris Espinosa led engaging sessions using theatre and improv, showing students how to bring stories to life through performance skills.

This fall, schools came alive with artist visits, bringing creativity and cultural enrichment directly to students! Highlights include Mexico 2000 for Hispanic Heritage Month, engaging writing workshops, and science workshops that explored concepts through theatre practices. Students also experienced the magic of storytelling, captivating puppeteers, and so much more. These experiences not only enhanced learning but also sparked imagination and curiosity in classrooms!

Our new after-school program is off to an incredible start this year! Students are diving into studio-style art classes every day of the week, exploring drama, dance, piano, drumline, and visual arts. With five days of hands-on creativity, paired with academic support and homework help, this program is fostering both artistic expression and academic success.

We are so thankful for the generous support of Texas Women for the Arts in helping us kick-start this amazing opportunity!

We have some AMAZING Teaching Artists coming to schools next semester! To secure an artist for your students or to sponsor an artist visit for a school, reach out to Lauren Hinch.
