CAFE's Wall of COOL recognizes excellent courses that use technology to enhance student learning and success. Courses of any modality from the 2023-24 academic year are eligible. Any faculty member or faculty team from any college, department, or unit is eligible.

Fall Generative AI Workshop Series

Join CAFE for a series of 1-hr Zoom workshop/collegial conversations on learning to use AI in your classes. Each workshop will begin with some "content" and move on to examples, while including plenty of discussion time. Register separately for the topics you're interested in - come to just one, or come to as many as you like.


  • Investigate generative AI in your discipline (Sept 12)
  • Prompt engineering is key (Sept 26)
  • Designing courses with AI awareness (Oct 17)
  • Designing specific assignments with AI awareness (Oct 31)

Learning And Terrific Teaching Exchange (LATTE) Series

We’ll start with 20 minutes on the clock to read a short article or watch/listen to video/audio content, and then discuss. These will be repeated but not recorded so plan to come in real time; all are Monday/Tuesday 12 – 1pm on various dates.


  • Active Learning (Sept 9 or 10)
  • Free and respectful speech (Oct 7 or 8)
  • Giving useful feedback (Oct 21 or 22)
  • Motivation at the end of the semester (Nov 18 or 19)

Multimedia Learning Objects

Use CAFE's Multimedia Learning Object's Repository to add interactivity and enhance your courses. These multimedia learning objects have been developed in collaboration with faculty. Watch our video (3m 13s) 👀 to learn how faculty at CPP are using multimedia learning objects in their courses.

This interactive simulation builds on the skills learned in Differential Leveling to introduce students to the techniques used in three-wire leveling, and guide them in constructing appropriate, organized, and accurate field notes.

This activity helps students understand the basis for accounting for inventories and three different types of inventory cost flow assumptions: First-In, First-Out (FIFO), Last-In, First-Out (LIFO), and Average Cost (AVCO).
