Communicate: Part 3 in CYO's PACD Toolkit

Colorado Youth Outdoors has always thought people could use our relationship-building tools (PACD Toolkit) while doing any 'ol thing together. Our 4-part series is our attempt to make good on that promise.

Here's our 3rd blog post of the series, Communicate (first two parts - Participate & Appreciate - are linked in the blog post).

At CYO, we love talking about communication while we're all wearing earplugs on the trap range. But one can communicate at entirely more normal moments -- like, say, over dinner.

This blog post is for anyone who wants to communicate better. With your teen, your spouse, your co-workers . . . give it a read!

PACD Model: Communicate

The Scoot - Friday September 27

You ready to gussy up in your cowboy clothes, belt out with the band and dance until the cows come home?

We've got Jake Jacobson croonin' under the biggest tent you ever did see. A whiskey wall, more raffles than you can shake a stick at, dancin' like you haven't done in a while . . . all under the stars at CYO. New this year: a plated & served dinner. Sit pretty instead of standin' in a food line.

Y'all, we're planning the best Scoot yet. Hope you're planning on being there.

It's a do-not-miss moment, all to benefit the programming at Colorado Youth Outdoors. A few tables are still available - but we expect a sell-out!

Git your table here!

Volunteers needed the week leading up to and at the Scoot. If you've got time, we'd love the help!

Good News from CYO

Well, that's a wrap on summer. Hope you had a great one. We sure did!

CYO hosted 480 summer campers, which screamed past our old 'most ever' record of 320 (screaming reference intentional 😁).

Our 3D Archery Tourney August 10th hosted 180 shooters, 60 of which were brand new to the sport. 80 folks went home with some new gear (thanks for the goodies from our suppliers!). Best wishes on some time well spent with your new hobby 🏹

30 groups visited our campus this summer for field trips and team builders, spending time together outside. We loved hosting all of them!

And one Moose. We hosted a moose on our 220 acres for roughly two weeks. Summer Campers named her Bertha . . . appropriate, as we tried to give her a wide berth. We hope Bertha ambled back to higher altitude -- and tells no one about her private oasis next to I-25.

Last: as we move into fall, we still have A FEW spots open in our teen-with-parent CORE class. You missed the first couple weeks of fishing, but can jump right in on archery. Interested? Please reply to this email. Spots open Tues-Weds-Thurs evenings and Tues 10am)

Bank of Colorado has sponsored the Scoot since its inception back in 2015 -- and has been a presenting sponsor since 2021.

Bank of Colorado manages our funds and financially supports CYO; we appreciate Bank of Colorado for their steadfast support.

CYO exists to build relationships.

We build relationships by having fun together outside.

Our classes cost more than double what we charge, and 25% of our participants come through full scholarship.

We only run thanks to community support. If you believe in what we do, please consider a financial donation. Or buy a table at the Scoot! 🤠
