As we step into September, we’re thrilled to celebrate Latine Heritage Month—a time to honor the rich cultural contributions of the Latine community and their profound impact on the arts. From groundbreaking performances to thought-provoking narratives, Latine artists have enriched our understanding and appreciation of diverse experiences.

STAFF UPDATE! We have some exciting new updates to share as the League prepares for theatre season this fall. We have new members to the team! We are excited to have these team member additions and changes to better serve your needs. You can see all our wonderful team by checking out our staff page HERE!

MEMBERSHIP UPDATE

We are transitioning the League to be on membership renewal for the calendar year for all members! Membership will be active January - December.

This means if you normally renew in October, you will get three additional months this year and if you already renewed in April, you will be prorated for next year! A new member portal will be coming soon. Please continue to check your inbox for further updates.

Dues will be due by January 15, 2024!

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT!

The League of Chicago Theatres is excited to announce the return of the Broadway In Chicago Backstage Champion Awards at our 2024 Spotlight Gala.

The Backstage Champion Award recognizes an individual within the Chicago theatre industry who has made a positive impact on our community and is not traditionally recognized. Nominations for this award are being accepted and can be submitted HERE.

The League of Chicago Theatres is excited to announce the return of the Broadway In Chicago Emerging Theatre Award at our 2024 Spotlight Gala.

The Emerging Theatre Award was created to highlight young theatres in Chicago that have demonstrated artistic excellence. Applications for theatres are now open and can be submitted HERE. The deadline to submit is September 6, 2024.

Join Chicago Theater Bike Ride Fund on September 7 at Foster Beach for the 10th Annual Chicago Theater Bike Ride & BBQ. All are welcome, riders and non-riders alike. Come celebrate and remember those we've lost in the past year. The Chicago Theater Bike Ride Fund provides support to members of the arts community who are struggling after the death of a loved one, illness or a major catastrophe that has impacted them financially. The mission of the Adolf Busch Award is to recognize and honor organizations that use music to address social injustice, inequity and lack of opportunity. The Award grants $10,000 to one organization each year. Smaller awards are often given to additional compelling applicants. Learn more and apply HERE.

CLATA announces Destinos, 7th Chicago International Latino Theater Festival, featuring most extensive festival line-up in its history with works from Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Mexico, the U.S. and Chicago debuting all over the city, September 30 - November 17.

This year, the Destinos 2024 line-up includes 22 productions at theaters large and small all over the city, including four world premieres, three North American premieres, three U.S. premieres and five Midwest premieres. Find a full list of shows HERE.
