Greetings from the largest small business association in San Francisco, advocating for all our businesses, including for issues such as security, legislation, and marketing.

SOMBA Board Meeting

We had an excellent meeting with SOMBA board member Keith Freedman, Vice President Laura Kudritzki and Juslyn Manalo from OEWD at the wonderful V Café on Folsom Street. Topics included the food trucks that park in the evenings opposite and compete with the restaurants in SOMA. This has been raised with our district supervisor.

We also discussed security and potential funding by OEWD for business cards and banners.

Redwood Credit Union

With students about to return to school Eric Maldonado, Business Development Manager at Redwood Credit Union partnered with Hunter Pence and Health Planet Project to do a Schoolyard Clean up at Tenderloin Elementary School on August 13, 2024. He reached out to SOMBA and other organizations to volunteer in the Schoolyard Clean up. Included in the group was Rodney Fong, Executive Director at the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce and Carlos Solorzano, Chairman & CEO of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of SF.

We commend and applaud Eric Maldonado for his dedication to the community.

Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center

The Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center is excited to announce the launch of their Fall 10-Week Business Planning Course starting on September 10th. This is an excellent opportunity for SOMBA members. They can benefit from a 40% discount exclusive to association members.
