Pierce Transit is Celebrating

45 Years of Service

Pierce Transit has been proudly serving the community since 1980. This year, they celebrate our 45th anniversary. Be on the lookout for social posts, commemorations and community outreach related to the anniversary throughout 2025!

Modifications to Runner

  • Pierce Transit Runner is an on-demand service that offers connections to transit, typically in areas with limited transit options.
  • There are six Runner zones serving Pierce County, providing connections to Ruston and along Ruston Way, the Tideflats, JBLM, in the Spanaway/Parkland/Midland area, Puyallup and in Gig Harbor.
  • The service now uses boarding points that make it easier and faster to pick up and drop off customers.
  • In some cases, rather than being picked up at a specific address, a customer may be asked to walk a short distance to meet the Runner vehicle, and they may be joined by another customer going in the same direction.
  • Customers with limited mobility may call the Runner support number at 253.600.4146 to request to continue to be picked up or dropped off at specific addresses.
  • For more information on Runner, including hours and fares, visit PierceTransit.org/Runner. You can download the Pierce Transit Runner app, and also find Runner in the Transit app
