From NAMI.org: From October 6 â 12, the National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI) plans to highlight how our mental health is impacted by our workplace cultures. Personal mental health can sometimes take a backseat at work, but itâs time for us to come together to prioritize it. Thatâs why NAMIâs theme this Mental Illness Awareness Week and World Mental Health Day is My Mental Health at Work! Promote mental wellness in your workplace with guides and resources available at nami.org. Be sure to also learn more about mental health awareness and the mental health services available at Coastline at coastline.edu/student-mental-health-services.

Join us on National Coming Out Day for a transformative workshop in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month and LGBTQ+ History Month, featuring Dr. Ăngel GonzĂĄlez, an esteemed Assistant Professor of Higher Education Administration and Leadership. As a queer, non-binary, and Latinx individual, Dr. GonzĂĄlez brings a unique perspective to the discussion on cultural and identity navigation. Hear Dr. GonzĂĄlez share their personal journey as a first-generation college student, detailing how their family and community played a pivotal role in their educational path and highlighting the importance of student advocacy and activism. After the workshop, join Student Mental Health Services for follow-up group meetings to continue the conversation.
