Hello Athletes!
This information will help you navigate the upcoming competition. Please read through these emails completely as they will save you time, energy and stress when time to compete arrives.
A few of you did not have a current USA Powerlifting membership when you registered for this event. Now is the time to get your membership for the year. If you get it today, it will be good all year until Dec 31, 2025. Once you have the number, please email me and tell me what the number is, so I can add it to your registration. If you fail to do this, you will not be able to compete, so don't delay getting this done. Memberships can be purchased here: Purchase your membership.
I'd like to talk about weight classes and making weight. Please be sure you are in the correct weight class. If you weigh 98kg, you should have entered to 100kg weight class. The number of the weight class is the TOP weight you can weigh. If you weigh 59kg, you will be in the 60kg weight class.
If this is your first event, I recommend not trying to "make weight." That means don't try to lose weight to compete. Compete in your actual weight class and gain the experience of competing without the added stress of dieting.

If you need to change weight classes, please let me know as soon as you can. I purchase all the awards based on what weight class you registered for. If a lot of lifters change weight classes at weigh ins, we may run out of awards. We also put together flights based on how many are in the classes. If too many lifters don’t make weight, it can be a disaster trying to re-configure flights ½ hour before the event begins.
If for some reason you don't make weight at weigh ins, you can still lift. You'll just be moved into the correct weight class.
Stay tuned... more coming soon!!!
