WEEKLY ISSUE

FROM THE COLORADO SPRINGS SCHOOL

September 27, 2024

Dear Kodiak Community,

I hope this message finds you well and you are enjoying the start of fall. As we head into this weekend, I'm excited to share some upcoming events that showcase the vibrant life of our school.

Carnival & Open House

We look forward to seeing our school community this afternoon from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. Please remember that school dismisses at noon today. We are grateful to the Parents Association for providing such a vibrant event on campus year after year to support CSS! This year, we will welcome our current community, prospective students with their families, and alumni!

Alumni & Homecoming Weekend

Our CSS alumni are welcome this weekend for a special reunion kicking off at Carnival. This promises to be a wonderful opportunity for our current students to mingle with graduates. Please review the calendar for a full list of weekend activities, including tonight's alumni BBQ on the Terrace, and on Saturday a Homecoming Volleyball game, followed by a Homecoming Dance for Upper School and an Alumni reception in LPAC. We hope our current families and students will join us in making our alumni feel at home and celebrating the rich history of our school's community.

On Monday, we will conclude Alumni Weekend with our Founders’ Day Celebration. Honoree Dottie Lirette, a longtime former art faculty member will be inducted into the Founders’ Day Hall of Fame, with a morning assembly that includes alumni, faculty, staff, and Middle and Upper school students. Be sure to enjoy her art show in LPAC!

These events embody the spirit of connection and growth that defines CSS. I look forward to seeing you all there as we celebrate our past, present, and future.

Warm regards,

Dr. Ryan Kelly, Head of School
