This Weekend & The Week Ahead

Epiphany Sunday

This Sunday!

8:00 and 10:30 AM Worship

We will chalk doorways in Sunday School and during both services on Sunday, January 5 to celebrate Epiphany. Chalking the doorways is a centuries-old tradition in which we write symbols above the doorway to mark the new year and bless the space within each doorway. Curious about what the symbols are and what they mean? Join us on January 5!

Newcomer Ambassadors Be the Friendly Welcome our Newest Members Need

For 2025, we are looking for those willing to be Newcomer Ambassadors - showing the way to our newest members and guests. Ambassadors should be available on Sundays, both before and after the services, to look for new people and introduce them to our church - giving some brief information about St. Michael's, showing them the "Invitation to Get Involved" board at the newcomer table, asking them to sign the guest book, helping them get coffee, introducing them and answering questions. Ambassadors will also deliver Welcome Bags to those in their zip code.  Please contact Linda Kean at linda@stmikeschurch.com for more information.

Creation Care Small Group Sacred Air: Climate and Energy

Starts Tuesday, February 4

Each Sunday we pray for the just and proper use of God’s creation. Are you concerned about climate change and its impact on God’s creation and God’s people? Uncertain how to respond? The Creation Care team will present Sacred Air: Climate and Energy as the next small group educational opportunity to help parishioners learn about environmental issues and decide how they might respond. This program will inform participants about the causes and effects of the climate crisis, discerning how they can help restore the health of our planet and those who live on it.  The program begins Tuesday, February 4, running on Tuesday evenings through April, and is limited to 15 participants. Jodi Bounds, Susan Futey and Steven Graves will be co-facilitating.

IHN Families Hosting

February 23 - March 2

After successfully providing temporary shelter, showers, and meals for several families at St. Michael’s for two different weeks in 2024 in partnership with IHN, we are blessed to have the opportunity to share our space and our love again during the week of February 23 – March 2. There are jobs for everyone – some that need to happen in advance to get the building ready, opportunities to cook and clean during the week, and even laundry washing that can be done in your home at your convenience. Children and youth are invited to participate by accompanying adult volunteers. We encourage you to sign up. Also, please RSVP for the IHN Volunteer Lunch Meeting on Sunday, February 16 from 12:00 - 1:30 PM. Please contact our IHN Co-Leaders Kelly Belvis at kellydean0409@gmail.com or Andy Laffely at alaffely@msn.com with any questions.
