Register Today for Amy's Race! Oct. 5

Join us on October 5th for our annual Amy’s Race! This fun, rugged, 4.5-mile trail race has something for everyone.

NEW! This year we've added a 10-mile option for those looking for more of a challenge. Plus, there will be an After-Party from 11 am - 1 pm, open to all race participants and members of the community at the Bolton Landing Brewing Company, where there will be a raffle, beer, and more!

Not able to race but interested in helping out? We're also looking for a few more volunteers to help with check-in, at water stations, course direction, and more.

New Staff and Board Changes

Reynen-Janice-2024 image

Please help us welcome Janice Reynen as the LGLC’s Events and Fundraising Coordinator!

A year-round resident of Silver Bay, Janice has extensive experience in communications, marketing, and design, and has a multi-generational connection to Lake George.

Giulia Casella, who has worked for the LGLC since 2022, has moved into the role of Operations and Finance Manager after the retirement of Cornelia Wells.

Changes Within the LGLC Board of Directors

In August, the LGLC Board of Directors voted to elect Bobby Von Werne as Vice President of Development, and Patty HasBrouck as Secretary. They had each held officer positions previously, but switched roles for new 3-year terms.

In addition, Lake George resident Elizabeth Avery, and Silver Bay resident Elizabeth Guest, were each elected to the Board, and Jiné Andreozzi was appointed to the Advisory Board.

Help us Rebuild the Gazebo!

After providing decades of service to hikers visiting the Schumann Preserve at Pilot Knob, the iconic gazebo will be rebuilt in 2025 to ensure the safety of our guests, and keep the integrity of the preserve.

We need your help to raise the funds needed to complete this exciting project. Please consider donating, buying a poster or sticker, or join our upcoming yoga event, all of which contribute toward the gazebo!

Hiking Safety During Hunting Season

As part of responsible forest and land management, the LGLC allows deer hunting on select properties, through a permit process. These properties include Amy's Park, Anthony's Nose, Godwin Preserve, Sucker Brook Preserve, and Terzian Preserve. Hunting applications have already been processed. No addition applications will be accepted at this time. Note that deer hunting season ends December 10.

Hunters are instructed to stay at least 500 feet away from any trail or property boundary. If you choose to hike at any of these preserves, please stay on the marked trails. For your safety, we also recommend that hunters and hikers wear hunter orange, and make sure you keep any dogs leashed and in control at all times.
