BURN CAMP NEWS AND UPDATES
| Celebrating our 41st summer, the Cheley/Children’s Hospital Colorado Summer Burn Camp hosted 84 pediatric burn survivors and 50 staff at Cheley Colorado Camps for an amazing week. Campers found a way to challenge themselves and committed to finding a path towards being their best selves both at camp and back home in their communities. From the moment they step off the bus to a parade of medical professionals, firefighters, referring burn hospital staff, current and alumni Cheley counselors, to their final goodbye and appreciation circle, thrilling experiences are shared at camp that will be remembered for a lifetime. Given the opportunity to come together and share their stories with one another, campers reflect on their past and continue healing their physical and emotional scars. With their burn injury bringing them together, the safe, challenging, nurturing, and accepting environment at camp is what allows campers to thrive. We sang, danced, hiked, fished, rode horses, swam, and adventured on outcamps. We challenged ourselves physically and emotionally, reconnected with our camp community, and made lifelong friends. Through all of this, campers demonstrated why the camp experience is a necessary and fulfilling part of their story. | |
Our Courage Classic fundraising team is excited to announce that in July, our 21 riders raised over $66,000 in support of the Burn Camps Program! We exceeded our goal of $50,000 through incredibly generous sponsors and donors. We want to thank our team sponsor the Denver Fire Fighters Charitable Foundation! They were a big reason for our financial success. We'd also like to thank our team riders who, without them, none of this would be possible.
Make plans to join us and save the date for next year's event! The Courage Classic returns to Copper Mountain on July 19-20, 2025.

Mile-Hi Jeep Club | All-4-Fun
The Mile-Hi Jeep Club held their 58th Annual All-4-Fun event in Buena Vista in July. The All-4-Fun event is one of the best 4-wheeling events in the country and offers a week-long 4-wheeling adventure in the Colorado Rockies. Trail runs, a live band, a night at the drive-in, and a fun-filled vendor day were just some of the fun activities on this year’s schedule.
All-4-Fun moves to a new location every year. Locations include places like Buena Vista, Empire, Leadville, Silverton, and other great towns. Group trips are available through Colorado's rugged mountains with multiple groups leaving camp each day for excursions in the area. Some trips test driving abilities while other trips leave drivers speechless with the stunning scenery that the Rocky Mountains provide.
All-4-Fun is one of the longest-running events to support the Burn Camps Program. We are incredibly proud to announce that this year’s event raised over $18,000! Thank you to the Mile-Hi Jeep Club and All-4-Fun participants for all your fundraising efforts and for your continued support of the Burn Camps Program!

We are excited to announce that Winter Camp will be held February 3 – 7, 2025, in Steamboat Springs, CO! This program was developed specifically for teens that have participated in our summer camp program and are interested in learning and growing both on and off the mountain. Participants spend their days shredding the snow and learning new skills and tricks. After a full day on the mountain, the group heads back to the Steamboat Grand Lodge to relax in the hot tub and get ready for the evening’s activities which focus on personal growth and goal setting unique to these campers. Burn survivors who have attended the Cheley Children’s Hospital Colorado Summer Burn Camp are eligible to attend.
