Our next Full Commission regular meeting will begin at 5:30 ET on Monday, October 21. Members of the public are invited to observe the meeting live online on CAH’s YouTube channel.
Members of the public may request three minutes to speak during the public comment period held at this meeting. Requests must be submitted by no later than Noon ET on Thursday, October 17. Written comments may also be submitted by no later than Noon ET on Thursday, October 17, as an alternative or in addition to spoken comments. Public comments, both spoken and written, will be included in the public record of the meeting.
This meeting is governed by the Open Meetings Act. Please address any questions or complaints arising under this meeting to the Office of Open Government at opengovoffice@dc.gov.

FY 2025 Grant Notifications | |
Funding recommendations were presented by staff at last week’s Full Commission Regular Meeting on Thursday, September 26, 2024. Those recommendations were discussed and approved by CAH Commissioners.
A friendly reminder regarding award notices, which was shared in each grant programs' Request for Applications. We will be notifingy applicants of the results of their application and the applicable award disbursement process with a:
- letter of intention to award
- letter of ineligibility, or
- letter of denial
These notifications will be sent via the applicant’s email as it appears in the CAH Grants Portal. Notifications for the majority of grant programs will be sent by close of business on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, except for the following:
- FY 2025 Capital Projects: Small applicants will be notified later in November 2024.
CAH grants are awarded on a competitive basis. Grant applications are reviewed and scored by independent advisory panels with final award determinations made by the CAH Commissioners. Additional grant awards and grant opportunities may be announced later in FY 2025.

DC Art Now 2024 Exhibition | |
DC Art Now 2024 is the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities’ annual exhibition of selected work by finalists for the FY25 Art Bank Program grant. It features many of the most exciting emerging and established artists working in the DC metropolitan region today.
Stop by our 200 I (Eye) Street, SE Gallery, and see DC come to life through photography, sculpture, painting, printmaking, textiles, and more! The gallery is free and open to the public Monday to Friday 9 am to 5:30 pm.

CAH's own Deirdre Darden, was interviewed for a segment in this month's WETA Arts episode!!
WETA Arts returns this October with an episode featuring music, art, and architecture. First, the program spotlights the Netherlands Carillon, a nine-story-high bell instrument that the Netherlands gifted to the United States after World War II. Next, host Felicia Curry tours the city in search of Latino murals, learning about their significance to local communities, and efforts to save them. Finally, Curry explores the unique and often reviled Brutalist style architecture of many Washington, D.C. buildings with Deane Madsen, founder of BrutalistDC.com.
This episode will first air on Monday, October 7 at 9:30 p.m. on WETA PBS and 8:30 p.m. on WETA Metro. In addition to airing again throughout the month, it will also be available to stream on the free PBS app and on weta.org starting October 8.

Cultural Affairs Campus Manager | |
Arlington Economic Development (AED) is seeking a dynamic and proactive Cultural Affairs Campus Manager to lead the operations of the Cultural Affairs Division (CAD) Campus. This role involves overseeing facilities management, coordinating scheduling, managing staffing (including temporary personnel), and handling the financial administration of the campus. The CAD Campus features diverse spaces, including rehearsal studios, theaters, ceramic and printmaking studios, a mobile art truck, an outdoor art area, portable artworks, and an amphitheater.
Salary range: $75,358.40 - $116,812.80. Applications close on Thursday, October 3 at 11:59pm!

Final National Theater Project Grant Cycle | |
Modeled on NEFA’s National Dance Project, NTP not only provides funding but also animates an informed, interactive network of producing theaters, presenters, and ensembles that promote the funded projects and the development of the field as a whole. Projects are supported through Creation & Touring Grants, which fund creation and preparation for touring of devised projects and Presentation Grants, which are awarded to presenters by the artist and support up to 50% of the artistic fee for NTP projects.
PLEASE NOTE: The final NTP Creation & Touring Grant cycle in its current form opened September 6, 2024. The deadline for the preliminary application will be October 10, 2024 at 11:59 pm EST.

National Leaders of Color Fellowship | |
The deadline to apply for the National Leaders of Color Fellowship (LoCF) Program is Sunday, October 13, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. MDT.
LoCF is a transformative leadership development experience curated by Creative West (formerly WESTAF) in order to establish multicultural leadership in the creative and cultural sector.

Vermont Studio Center Fellowship Opportunities | |
Call for applications is now open and runs from September 1, 2024 to October 15, 2024. This Open Call will fill all 2025 residencies.
Applications are juried together in a pool by a rotating jury of practicing artists and writers. For each application deadline we have fellowship opportunities which are listed on our fellowships page. Applicants whose work was well-received but were not awarded a fellowship may still be invited for admission.

Digitizing Hidden Special Collections & Archives | |
Digitizing Hidden Special Collections and Archives: Amplifying Unheard Voices is a grant competition administered by the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) for digitizing rare and unique content stewarded by collecting organizations in the US and Canada. Launched in 2021, the program is designed to support efforts to digitize materials that deepen public understanding of the histories of people of color and other communities and populations whose work, experiences, and perspectives have been insufficiently recognized or unattended.
Application deadline: October 30, 2024, for initial applications.
