Retaining Wall Concrete Pour

As crews continue to make steady progress constructing the new retaining wall along the southbound MacArthur Boulevard on-ramp, an overnight concrete pour is planned on Wednesday, Sept. 18 from midnight to 5 a.m.

This work will require closing the southbound MacArthur Boulevard straight and loop on-ramps, as well as one outside lane on southbound SR-55 at MacArthur.

Thank you to the neighboring businesses and communities for your patience while crews construct the wall.

COMING SOON:

Extended Closure of Northbound SR-55

MacArthur Boulevard Off-Ramp

Crews are planning to reconstruct the northbound MacArthur Boulevard

off-ramp to accommodate the freeway improvements. Contractors will repave the off-ramp. The single lane onto eastbound MacArthur will be eliminated permanently.

This work will require an extended closure of the off-ramp, tentatively in early-October. Additional information will be provided in future communications.

About the Project

OCTA, in cooperation with Caltrans, is improving 4 miles of SR-55 between I-405 and I-5. The project will improve traffic flow and reduce travel time by adding one regular lane and one carpool lane in each direction. Also, the project will add merge lanes between several interchanges and stripe carpool lanes for continuous access, augmenting safety on the freeway by making merging easier. These enhancements are expected to create a better, smoother driving experience for motorists.
