Happy retirement Dr. Ignatoff

Congratulations to Dr. Jeff Ignatoff on his retirement! Joining MUSM in 2010, Dr. Ignatoff served as vice-chair of pathology and clinical sciences education. He has also served as co-chair of Block 4 in the pre-clinical curriculum, overseeing gastrointestinal, hematology/oncology, endocrinology and reproduction modules. We are grateful for his outstanding dedication to our students' medical education and wish him all the best in his retirement.

Hanukkah

Hanukkah or Chanukah is a Jewish holiday that spans eight days and commemorates the rededication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem. During Hanukkah, Jewish families gather to light the menorah and enjoy traditional foods, games, and gifts. The holiday starts on the 25th of Kislev on the Hebrew calendar, which this year falls on December 25. Hanukkah will end on January 2, 2025.

Kwanzaa

Kwanzaa is an African American and pan-African holiday created in 1966 by Dr. Maulana Karenga, a professor of Africana Studies, that celebrates community, culture, and family. Kwanzaa starts on December 26 and ends on January 1. Throughout the week, families and communities organize activities around the seven principles: unity, self-determination, collective work, economics, purpose, creativity, and faith.
