Kwanzaa
Kwanzaa is an African American and pan-African holiday created in 1966 by Dr. Maulana Karenga, a professor of Africana Studies, that celebrates community, culture, and family. Kwanzaa starts on December 26 and ends on January 1. Throughout the week, families and communities organize activities around the seven principles: unity, self-determination, collective work, economics, purpose, creativity, and faith.
