Spotlight Photo of the Week: Family groups are competing service learning projects together throughout the year. This family went to St. Mark’s School to serve.

Knights of the Week

Michael Scherer & Luke Sumner

Community

Michael and Luke have done exceptional work as IT Department Aides.  Their creativity and dedication have been truly outstanding.  To enhance their service, they took the initiative to create a QR code for students and staff to rate their experiences. This simple yet effective tool has improved feedback collection and engagement. Additionally, they always make sure to greet and assist every student seeking tech support. Their proactive attitude and readiness to help set them apart.  Their enthusiasm and willingness to go above and beyond have been a refreshing and valuable contribution to our program.

Ms. Raquelle Mouw

Faith

Ms. Mouw always opens class with an honest and genuine prayer that she applies to real life scenarios.

One day, Ms. Mouw's prayer was about applying that verse about praying for those who persecute you. She told us a story about how someone around her when she was driving got a little road rage on her. She began praying all kinds of good things for them. It made her day so much better to pray for them that her experience inspired me to pray for others more, especially those that irritate me.

I can see how Ms. Mouw lives her faith in her life by the way she prays in class everyday. She's so real. She should be teacher of the week.

Employment Opportunities at BK and in the Diocese

IT Audio Visual and Data Liaison at Bishop Kelly

The IT Audio Visual and Data Liaison will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our school's technological capabilities. This position will primarily be working with the various types of audio and visual equipment used on the Bishop Kelly campus daily, at athletic competitions, and special events.

Visit the BK Employment Page for details and to apply.

Attendance Office Procedures

  • Parents are asked to email the school’s Attendance Office before 9:30am on the day a student will be absent from class for all or part of the school day due to an illness or an appointment. That email is attendance@bk.org
  • Bishop Kelly is a closed campus.  This means that students who have professional appointments may leave and return back to campus with a doctor's note or other documentation excusing the absence.  If a parent chooses to check out a student for a non-professional or non-medical reason, then the student will be checked out for the rest of the day.  The student may not return to school that day unless they have a doctor's note or other professional documentation. Our goal is to limit classroom disruptions and maintain the academic integrity of the classroom.  This may affect activity eligibility for the day.
  • Students must sign-out at the Attendance window when they leave campus during the school day, and sign back in at the Attendance Window with documentation when they return.
