Principal's Message

Dear Miramonte Community,

Next week, our Leadership class is hosting our annual Go Mats Week!, to help promote the various courses, programs, clubs and opportunities we have at Miramonte for all students. There is something for everyone at Miramonte, and it’s not too late for students to try something new or refocus their efforts on something they’ve left behind. Please encourage your child to check things out and we hope they enjoy the week!

As you know, next Thursday is Open House and we hope you, your children and families join us for a great evening to celebrate the year and plan for the future!

Have a great weekend, see you at the basketball game tonight, and Go Mats!

Mr. Ben Campopiano

Parents' Club Message

Happy Friday Miramonte Families,

Wishing the very best of luck to our talented students participating in the Public Speaking and Debate Tournament tomorrow! You inspire us with your ability to express ideas, tackle complex topics, and represent our school with confidence and grace. Good luck—we know you’ll make us proud!

The Miramonte Asian Student Union invites everyone to attend our first ever ‘Lunar New Year Market Night’, happening next Tuesday from 6-8 PM in the Student Union. This exciting event will feature delicious catered meals, boba from ShareTea, a live music performance, and booths showcasing Lunar New Year traditions around the world. It’s a wonderful opportunity to come together and celebrate our students' creativity and community-building efforts!

Don’t miss ‘Open House’ on Thursday from 6-8pm. This is an excellent opportunity to explore classes and subjects while planning for next year’s schedule—a process that’s already underway. There will be a special meeting for our Senior families and for Incoming 9th graders. Open House is a chance to meet teachers, ask questions, and learn more about the exciting opportunities Miramonte offers. I’ll share that my son, Hendrix, discovered an interest for a subject during Open House, which shaped his academic journey. You never know when your student may feel inspired!

Stay up to date with all Parents' Club activities by visiting our website. As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns.

Warmly,

Christina Linezo

Thank you, ONE-Miramonte donors!

The 532 families on this list know that their gifts to ONE-Miramonte make a significant and positive impact at our school this year and benefit every student and teacher at Miramonte.

Donations to ONE-Miramonte provide:

  • Supplemental funding for every class for needed supplies and materials
  • Nineteen class sections, allowing for more course options, including AP and Honors classes, smaller class sizes, and a 7-period day
  • A fully-staffed Wellness Center
  • Expanded hours in Miramonte’s unrivaled College & Career Center
  • Funding for popular student programs, such as Latin Club, Public Speaking, The Mirador, Link Crew, among many
  • Visual and Performing Arts
  • Teacher and Staff appreciation events

Miramonte is one of the best schools in the state in no small part because of the support the school receives from parents. Counseling News

Schedule Changes

The deadline to drop a class without it appearing on the transcript is March 14.

Students who received a D or F in a graduation required course should email their counselor to see if they are eligible for remediation through a FuelEd course. Ninth graders are not eligible for FuelEd.

Course Selection

Registration for next year's classes will began this week! We have met with all 11th and 10th graders at this point, and plan to meet with 9th graders next week.

We ask that students and families who have questions about courses for next year email their counselor. Unfortunately due to the high volume of questions we get, we are unable to have in-office meetings for every student to go over course selections. However, it is our experience that most questions can be answered via email. Of course, if a question cannot be answered via email, we will schedule a meeting. Counselors will be available for students to ask specific registration questions during lunch in front of the counseling office January 21st - February 6th.

Counselors will also be holding a Q&A session at Open House on January 30th.

All students will be given a registration form to complete and return (with a parent signature) to their English teacher. Forms will be collected by counselors in English classes on the following days:

11th graders: Monday, February 3

10th graders: Tuesday, February 4 and Wednesday, February 5

9th graders: Thursday, February 6 and Friday, February 7

Students who miss their registration presentation will be required to attend the make-up session during Academy.

Math Placement/Selection

Last week, Mr. Campopiano sent math recommendations via email to all families. Students will be pre-enrolled in the class they have been recommended for. If a student wishes to take a math class they were not recommended for, they need to speak directly with their math teacher.

Math override forms will become available on February 11th from math teachers. Students must fill out the override form no later than February 28th to be guaranteed placement in the class they would like to take. All override forms completed after February 28th will result in students being placed on a waitlist.

Students wishing to skip a level of math entirely should reach out directly to their counselor.

Visual & Performing Arts News

Save the date: Performers for Progress, Friday, February 21, 7:00 p.m.

Performers for Progress has been a cherished tradition at Miramonte since 2006. This annual show, entirely created and produced by students, highlights the incredible talents of our students while supporting a meaningful cause. Each year, the show benefits a different charity, and this year, all proceeds will go to Tri Valley Haven, which provides shelter and resources to people who are homeless or suffering from domestic violence and has a food bank.

Join us for an evening of inspiring performances and support both our Miramonte performers and this outstanding organization!

Ticket information is coming soon. Students who are interested in auditioning for the show can sign up here.
