Women Who Work will be joining Love.Craft for an exciting Community Craft Night! We'll have the opportunity to paint a piece of pottery made by a crew member, taught by crew members. You'll get to keep your beautiful and unique piece of art and create invaluable new community connections.

Love.Craft Athens' number one goal is to promote and foster inclusivity of adults with disabilities throughout our community. By empowering their crew to express themselves through art and find their voice we are providing important tools for the to identify with our community. They also work with the local community and businesses to educate them on how to support the Crew.

Athens to Host Young Gamechangers in 2025

GeorgiaForward’s Young Gamechangers is a unique and proven leadership action program that gathers 45 of Georgia’s brightest young minds to develop creative and viable recommendations for one community.

We are thrilled to announce that Athens has been selected as the 2025 host city for Young Gamechangers. 15 participants between ages 25-40 will be selected from the Athens area along with 15 from the Atlanta area and 15 from rural Georgia. Class participants tackle real community and economic development issues with colleagues from across the state, building up civic engagement tools like collaboration, compromise, and negotiation.

Athens Community Council on Aging - Director of Center for Active Living

The Director of the Center for Active Living (CAL) is responsible for overseeing a comprehensive range of programs that promote the health, wellness, and social engagement of older adults. This role involves managing fitness classes, wellness programs, art activities, social events, and an extensive trip program for active seniors. The Director is also responsible for overseeing a community dining program for at-risk seniors. Additionally, this position plays a pivotal role in the long-term sustainability and growth of CAL by identifying opportunities for program expansion, partnership development, and financial sustainability. The Director will collaborate with the ACCA Leadership Team to ensure CAL remains a vibrant and vital community resource.

The Destination Services Manager is responsible for managing the Housing Services program utilizing Passkey by CVENT. This role ensures the seamless execution of housing blocks for conventions, conferences, and sporting events, consolidating the booking process into one unified website experience for event attendees. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in customer service and operational management, demonstrating an ability to work closely with event planners and internal teams to provide exceptional service and support. This position reports to the Director of Sales.

Nuçi's Space Presents Athens Uncovered

Athens Uncovered is back for another unforgettable night of music, celebration, and support for an important cause. This year’s event, Revival, invites the Athens community to come together at The Foundry on December 6th for a benefit show supporting Nuçi’s Space, a nonprofit dedicated to preventing suicide and providing brain health services for musicians.

Athens Uncovered: Revival will showcase Athens’ legendary music scene in anticipation of Nuçi’s Space’s upcoming 25th anniversary. The evening will feature, an opener by Camp Amped’s Noodle Soup Group, and a surprise “Athens Music Royalty” supergroup including members of R.E.M., Camper Van Beethoven, Randall Bramblett Band, Drive-by Truckers, Five Eight, Cracker, and many more!

Canopy Studio is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to enriching the culture of our community and the lives of individuals through aerial dance, movement education and performance arts. Canopy is a resource for local artists and all individuals, regardless of background, age, or physical ability, providing instruction in movement arts and a much-needed live performance venue in North Georgia.

Our Board is composed of a President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary, in addition to regular, voting Board member spots. We also have three non-voting roles, our Staff Representative and Board Fellows.  Our Board maximum is 11 members and terms last 3 years. The current Executive Director of Canopy reports to the Board and attends all Board meetings. Canopy’s Board is responsible for governance and financial oversight of the organization, while the Executive Director’s responsibility covers operations and strategy of the organization.
