Dear Prevention,

In 2008, New Jersey opened its first state-funded recovery community center, giving people in all stages of recovery a safe place to find support and hope.

Since then, the New Jersey Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services and recovery groups have worked together to create Community Peer Recovery Centers in every county across the state!

At Prevention Links, we are honored to run three of these centers in:

These centers are places where lives are changed, and you find the courage to heal.

Recovery Centers are built on the idea that recovery is strongest when you lean on each other.

Volunteers, who bring their own experiences with recovery (so important!), offer compassion and understanding. Together, we create a community where everyone feels welcomed and valued.

I want to share a closer look at what makes these centers so special.

Our partners at New Jersey Prevention Network created a heartfelt video about Recovery Junction Recovery Center in Jersey City.

In this short but touching snapshot, you’ll meet our staff member Michelle, and our beloved participant, Billy, who opens up about how the center has touched his life (stay tuned for a longer-form video of his story coming soon!).

It’s a powerful reminder of the strength, love, and connection that grow in these spaces.

CPRCs are lifelines for so many, providing a place where struggles don’t define you—your bravery, resilience, and progress do.

Please take a moment to watch the video and see the impact these centers have. And remember, whether you need support or want to give it, our doors are always open.

Family Success Toy Drives

This year - we are in a tough position. Our beloved toy coordinator has retired from her volunteer role and we need to make sure we carry on this tradition in her stead. We're aiming to brighten the season for children and families who might otherwise go without at our Family Success Centers. It’s a reminder that even a small act of generosity can make a big difference, and we’re honored to help these families feel the joy of the season through your support.

Journey of Hope Event

Our Journey of Hope event on January 10th at our Rise Up Recovery Center in Roselle will be another opportunity for the recovery community to come together.

This gathering celebrates the resilience of individuals in recovery and provides a space to connect, share recovery stories, and uplift one another. Our goal is creating an environment where people in recovery feel a profound sense of belonging and support—an environment that helps make the journey a little bit easier.
