Friday 4-H Nugget

Greetings 4-H Community,

As we are near the end of the year, it is a great time to reflect, set goals and celebrate. Over the past year a lot has happened in the 4-H program including reaching our goal of growing from last year to this year! Our growth extended into the community in programs and club enrollments. Let's make the 2025 program year even bigger!

In this edition of the 4-H Nugget you will find upcoming activities and a new fundraiser to help support the Mini 4-H program. We also want to take a moment to congratulate Robby and Amanda on the birth of Teagan Grace on 11/20/24.

Please note that our office will be closed on: December 24-25, and January 1. The Extension Educators will be out of the office for Purdue's Winter Recess from December 23 and will return January 2, 2025. Some will have vacation days right after that as well. Any of our staff are happy to assist you!

Wishing you and your families a great Holiday Season and Happy New Year!

All the best,

Robby Kelly, Sthele Greybar & Corey Sharp

Building Supervision Open to Public

We are doing something a bit different this year and using Sign Up Genius to schedule guarding the building during fair week in July. If individuals would like to sign up to guard the exhibit building, the link is now public and available here.

We do building supervision to protect our 4-H’ers' exhibits and assist the general public as they visit our displays. Want to help? Please be age 16 or older and volunteer to guard to the building for at least one hour during fair week!

Please include your name and which Elkhart County 4-H Club you would like to represent in the time slot you choose. You will be reminded about your time slot one week prior to fair. Please help us fill each empty space! We appreciate your help!

Milk Quality Contest/Dairy Foods Team

Do you have an interest in cheese, milk and other dairy products, or learning about dairy production? Then join our team! In January we will be kicking off our 2025 Dairy Foods/ Milk Quality Career Development Team.

This is a great way for anyone to learn more about dairy products and how they are made! Practices will start on Tuesday, January 21 and the teams will participate at the state contest on Saturday, February 15. To sign up fill out the sign up sheet and email to Robby Kelly. Reach out to the office or contact Robby with any questions.
